3:57 am, January 1998.
No lights were on. Two beds were in one room. The yellow haired boy laid in his bed, with him soon jolting awake after hearing a certain noise. The boy would check the clock next to him, reading the time. Why did he wake up at this time? He never truly understood why. The boy would turn to his right and froze; there was a figure on the other side of the room, but it was too dark to see what it was. All he could see was a devilish smile.
The boy would stare on with his body unable to move. It was close to his little sister's bed, it could hurt her; he didn't want her to be hurt. If she was, he'd never forgive himself. He would have nothing left, except a broken shell of his former past. It was only then, the figure spoke, allowing the boy to recognise the figure before him.
"Denji."
It spoke, the voice sounding feminine and commanding, but so calm at the same time. The smile continued to creep upon the woman's face; that damn fucking smile. The boy, whose name was revealed to be Denji, would shake out of fear somewhat; the hairs on his body would stand as he heard the voice for the first time in seemingly a long time.
"You remember what I said, didn't you?"
She spoke, her eyes finally opening to reveal the glowing, orange-yellow tinted eyes. Denji's eyes would begin filling with tears, remembering his life before now; the life he had before that had been ruined by her. Everything flashed before his eyes. He remembered everyone he killed for her. He remembered what he did for her admiration and for her love and affection.
He still noticed that one detail from her; those spirals in her eyes, which may as well be spirals of insanity. She would laugh out loud like that one fateful day, where everything changed. That laugh still haunted him, still piercing his years despite the amount of time that has passed since then.
The woman would soon stop laughing, as her smile was no longer able to be seen. Denji knew that she wasn't real, so why was he so scared of her? He didn't understand. After all,
He was the one who killed her.
Why would he still be so scared of the woman who he killed? He finally mustered the will to speak back.
"Miss...Makima?"
He spoke with Makima jolting her head and tilting it slightly, with the smile returning now that it seemed Denji recognised her. However, it wasn't a smile of happiness. Makima would walk towards Denji slowly, starting to recite what he's told her before.
"I told you that I would kill every single person you love, just so I can plunge you back into darkness and make Chainsaw Man my tool."
Her footsteps felt so real, with each sound each step made filled his ears. The features of this woman would become clearer to Denji, despite the fact the features are always etched into his head.
Makima wore a white shirt, with a black tie; she also wore black trousers and suit, looking very formal. The red hair with a braided ponytail at the back, and the two strands of hair from either side of her head as well as the small bangs on the front. Denji would begin to whisper once more, but in fear.
"Go away..."
He whispered, with Makima's frown being more evident than before. Makima was stood at the side of Denji's bed, with her arms behind her back.
"Chainsaw Man doesn't speak."
She would tilt her head once more, before reaching towards Denji; her hand starting to teach towards his face, with his vision becoming more and more unclear as her hand begins to come his eyes. The one thing he can see as his vision begins to get unclear, was the orange, glaring eyes of the Control Devil.
"Be my tool, Chainsaw Man."
Her hand would fully cover Denji's face, as he would scream aloud. However, a faint, blurred sound would begin to be heard by Denji himself.
"Denji?"
The voice stated, with Denji's scream continuing before the voice became clearer; his eyes were closed, and with the voice, he opened them. Makima wasn't there anymore. The only thing that was there was his little sister staring up at him, with those same orange, spiralling eyes.
"Denji.."
And yet, instead of glaring, they looked scared and worried for him. He would look down at the little girl.
"Nayuta...? What are you doing awake?"
He asked softly, the tears still filling his eyes. Nayuta would climb onto Denji's bed and wrapped her arms around her big brother, as Denji would hug back.
"I'm scared.."
She spoke, as Denji rubbed her back and told her that it was okay. The two would lay back onto Denji's bed, hugging each other and they soon drifted off asleep again.
Nayuta's eyes would shut, closing the eyes filled with the spirals of insanity.
