—-----------------

You jerked up from your sleep, breathing heavily and ragged.

A loud thud sounded from the houses' entrance waking you up abruptly from your dreamless rest. It panicked your instincts making you alert and awake, as if you had 2 cups of coffee just a few minutes prior.

What was that noise? What was going on?

Your hand grazed beside you on your queen sized bed by habit, feeling nothing but fabric.

Nothing, but soft covers and cushions.

Something wasn't right. Something very vital to you was missing.

And then it clicked.

Your eyes snapped beside you, searching for a skeleton with a painful hole in his head.

But he wasn't there.

Slight panic rose within you, as you looked around the room, searching for any signs of your skeletal lover, the dim light from the night sky slightly illuminating your bedroom. Your breathing quickened with every passing second that you couldn't find him.

Where was he? Why wasn't he beside you?

Not on the bed.

He should've been beside you. He couldn't have left you so suddenly.

Not near the bed.

He wouldn't leave you, right?

Not at the window.

He wouldn't.

Not at the table.

Was he kidnapped perhaps!? But he's strong and could handle himself.

Not in the wardrobe.

And you would've noticed.

Not on the floor.

But what if he was?

Not near the door.

What if you didn't notice?

Not near you.

You looked around the dark room, looking for anything dangerous or a sign of a kidnapping.

Perhaps you were so deeply asleep that you didn't notice. And then he got kidnapped and you didn't notice and he's being tortured or maybe even killed while you were asleep and-

Breathe...

.
.
.

...take a moment and breathe

.
.
.

Sans wouldn't get kidnapped so easily.

Yeah everything was probably fine...

Just... breathe...

Your racing heart and fast breath calmed down, as the slight ringing in your ears ceased. Panicking gets you nowhere.

Panicking gets you nowhere.

As your hearing and senses returned you heard footsteps coming from the hallway. Your cottage wasn't exactly big, as you lived in the middle of the forest on mountain Ebott , only a single path leading towards the city. That also meant that every noise in the house wouldn't go unnoticed.
