Chapter Seven - Reunion

She was having dinner with her family as was natural, but her mind was thinking of many ways in which she could proceed to the meeting with the future Lord Black. On the other hand, she was also thinking of her future to reunite the few pieces of the Black family that still survived and hoped that the future Lord Black could help her rebuild it rather than destroy it.

Her family as a Black had been destroyed. Her aunt Walburga's plans, even if they were intended to rebuild and enlarge the family, the short time and the war caused the opposite effect and destroyed it further, but it was a gamble her aunt took, unfortunately, her hand was ruined when the table was turned and it was all over.

On the other hand, it also had a positive effect on her coward of a husband. When Abraxas Malfoy, her husband's father, made the betrothal agreement with her father, Cygnus Black III, good fortune began for the Malfoys. Although the Malfoy was heavily in debt because of the contract in favor of the Blacks, Abraxas gambled what he had because, as a Lord of magical France, where he was but a simple lord with money and no influence, so he decided to contribute his good sum of money to have contacts with various noble families in the 28 holy lords of magical Britain. The Malfoy debt to the Blacks was very large, but as she was married to Lucius, the debt had been put on hold, and only the future Lord could decide to claim it. Other than that, Lucius took advantage of that and the debt simply fell into oblivion.

Now with the Black family all but forgotten, Lucius had begun his plans. He had told her everything, thinking that she was loyal to him, though he also relied on that because of the magical contract.

That contract had restricted her in many ways, causing her to use her impeccably demonstrated talents to make the Malfoy family even richer.

The bastard had also tried to use her to do business with other families and set her up as a mistress to sweeten the deals, but even if she came close to being in bed with other men because of her husband's ambition, she would not allow herself to be degraded in that way and used the contract and the clauses to her advantage. So whenever her husband tried to use the clauses of the magical contract to her advantage, she always found ways to avoid being someone else's sex doll. Of course, that caused her to be punished by her husband in horrible ways that she easily endured with her prodigious ability of Occlumency that made any Ice Queen look like a cheerful girl full of life, though that didn't make the pain any less.

But aside from the uses her husband tried to put her to, which made him hate her even more, it didn't mean that Malfoy's plans were on the right track. He wanted to be a Lord of the Holy 28 in the Wizengamot, so his plan was for his heir to become Lord and he would be his regent, which is where his son Draco Malfoy came in.

She loved her son, that she would not deny, but she knew that for as long as she could remember and for as long as she could remember, Lucius had already buried his claws in him and taught him in his way, which even if her son loved her, she knew that he would prefer his father 100%.

It was then that, with Bellatrix and Sirius in Azkaban, her now being Malfoy and Walburga dead, Lucius had free space for his son to take over the power of House Black and thus gain the title of Lord Malfoy as his son would hand over his position of Lord to his dear, beloved father, then the Black family would be extinguished and a French foreigner would take great power by having everything belonging to the Black family at his disposal. Or that would have been the original plan if someone hadn't been born to ruin her husband's "perfect" plans.

When Draco was born on the 5th of June 1980, Lucius hoped that it was long enough for his son to be the oldest Black child that could be born, it wasn't until later that his Aunt Walburga decided to mention that she had Hadrius and Samara Black's son who was born on the 4th of September 1979, which not only made him older than Draco, but his surname was Black.
