Chapter 23 - Hidden Wish

Lee Rin quickly pushed Fu Wei away from her. "This..." She didn't know what to say, so she simply leave Fu Wei alone at the parking lot.

Fu Wei looked at the empty space in front of him and sighed sadly.

After standing there for a few minutes, he moved his feet and drove his car out of the place.

On the other side, Lee Rin's state of mind was in a turmoil. Everything is different, and she didn't know what to do. The female lead, Song Xin, was already married to an inconspicuous supporting male character. Then, there's Fu Wei. Was he confessing to her?

And what does he mean by her accepting him? All she did was to shorten the distance between Yan Yan and his father. Although she did admit that she had a good feelings for him, it doesn't reach to the point where she can accept him easily.

They were business partners, and at the same time, friends.

But being a lover to each other is different.

There are many factors to consider when going into a relationship. Especially for her, she wants to be in a relationship with the person that she is sure of or confident.

Lee Rin threw away her thoughts and drove back home. It's her son's birthday. Just threw away those unnecessary thoughts!

Thinking of her son, a smile was formed on her face.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, happy..."

Lee Yan was staring at the big cake that was half of his size with a wide smile plastered on his face.

The three conspicuous candles were lit up brightly, adding an orange light to Yan Yan's smiling face.

"Baby, make a wish." Lee Rin's gentle voice rang.

"Okay."

Lee Yan closed his eyes and uttered his wish in his heart.

'I hope mom will be always alright, I hope we can be happy like this forever. Then grandma and grandpa, I hope I can spend more time with them. Ah, I also hope to eat more Chicken Adobo, Fried Shrimp, and the Salted Fish that mom didn't want me to eat.'

He paused.

He was hesitating whether to add it or not. Not because he didn't want to, but because he was worried that his whishes was too many.

In the end, he decided to voiced out his last wish.

'I hope that mom and dad can be together.'

He remembered the cartoons he had been watching last time. It was said that in a family, there was a father, a mother, and their child. His mom was the mother while Yan Yan was the child. However, he had no father.

But now, he has a dad.

If mom and dad can be together, maybe he can also have a complete family...

Little Yan opened his eyes. The party resumed but his wishes still lingered. No one knew, but his wishes will be realized in the near future.

The guests started eating and chatting. On the other side of hall was the kids section. Kids about three to seven years old were playing there with the already prepared toys.

"Lee Rin, your son is so cute. He will definitely be a handsome man in the future, with countless young misses flocking to his side." Anne covered her mouth and said with a smile.

Hearing her words, Lee Rin also smiled. She silently agreed with her words, but somehow, she feels sad when she thought Yan Yan would soon grow up.

"Look at you, you seem so worried. Yan Yan is only three years old." Anne said again.

Her full name is Anne Sweden and she is one of  Lee Rin's friends abroad. In fact, she was once Lee Rin's competitor at the competition between the prestigious schools back then. Anne achieved the second spot while Lee Rin first.

After the competition, the two appreciated each other's strength and abilities and quickly became friends.

This time she came specifically to attend Little Yan's third birthday.

Lee Rin smiled teasingly, "Of course I'm worried. But you can't understand it since you're a single."

Anne's face stiffened and she dramatically held her chest, looking like she will die at any moment.

"Oh, you hurt my poor heart. How could you say that to your friend? Hmph, wait until I find handsome man to be my boyfriend!"

Lee Rin shook her head helplessly.
