Chamber - Don't leave me

"Alright, I want you all to get into groups of 5. Then, spike defusing training" Brimstone announces. Everyone groans.

You're kind of an outcast in the Valorant protocol. Nobody considers you their friend, nor foe. You're sort of just... there. Except for Chamber. Yet, you both don't quite fit under the 'friends' category just yet. You just talk with each other, if that makes sense. You try an avoid interactions with anyone just in case you get attached.

You decide to be bold and ask Chamber if you can join his group. Not like you had much of an option anyway. Everybody else was already in a group of 5 and Chamber's group was the only group with four people.

"Hey" You tap his shoulder. He turns around. "Good day, madam. How can I help you?" He asks. "Well, I was just wondering if I could join your group? If it's okay with everyone" you say. "Of course" he replies. Chamber's group had him, Yoru, Skye, Kay/o and now you in it.

A while had passed by and Skye was trying to defuse the spike while you were told to hold the angle where the training bots were last seen. The rest of the group was rotating onto your site. You started to lose focus. Everything went blurry and your ears started to ring. Then, everything went back to normal. You look up and see the bot shooting at Skye, but you freeze. Then, Yoru shoots the bot and you gain control over your body again.

"Y/n! What the fuck were you doing?" Yoru yells at you. You then see that Skye is severely wounded and bleeding. "I-I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me" your voice trembles. "You're a fucking useless piece of shit" Yoru then takes Skye to Sage.

You look down and think to yourself, 'this is all my fault'. Then, you feel a hand on your shoulder. You look up to see chamber. "Don't listen to Yoru. He's just worried for Skye. He's the type of guy to take out his anger on everyone" Chamber tries to comfort you. "No, Chamber. He's right. If I didn't zone out, Skye would have been fine right now. I'm to blame" you feel tears forming in your eyes.

"Please, call me Vincent. And nonsense. I know you meant well. Skye will be alright in no time. Sage is an expert at her job" he lightly smiles. "But now Yoru will hate me" you pull away from Vincent. "I'll talk to him. Don't you worry" he says.

A few hours later, Brimstone calls everyone to an emergency meeting.
"We've just been alerted that hostiles are infiltrating sites in 4 different regions. Fracture, Ascent, Icebox and Lotus. We will need everyone sent to stop them. You will remain in the teams you were previously in during training, earlier today" Brimstone announces.

"Wait. No. Don't you remember what happened to Skye earlier today?" Yoru argues. "I do. Sage had already ran multiple check up's on Skye. She is fully recovered" Brimstone replies. "No, I'm not talking about Skye's state of condition. What if Y/n fucks up like last time and someone gets hurt again? We can't afford that. We'll be better off without her!" Yoru protests.

You don't want to hear anything more from Yoru, so you get up and leave back to your room.

~ Vincent (Chamber's) POV ~

"Yoru, that's enough" Brimstone scolds. "Whatever. It's better now that she's gone" Yoru scoffs.

"Oh, just shut up!" I slam the table. "I tried to give you a chance, but you've just taken this way too far now. You're not fucking perfect. Stop talking as if you don't make mistakes sometimes!" I shout at Yoru. "Why are you defending her? She clearly can't do anything right" Yoru says. I just glare at him, then I get up and leave the room. I head straight to Y/n's room.

I gently knock on the door. "Y/n...?" I softly speak. I don't receive a reply. "Y/n?" I repeat. I decide to let myself in. I slowly open the door, then the first thing I see is Y/n unconscious on her bed with a small container of pills next to her. "Putain de merde" I quickly rush in and check her pulse. I then carry her all the way to Sage. "She overdosed. Please help. Quick" my heart races.

I nervously wait outside Sage's clinic for what seemed to be hours. Finally, Sage approaches me.
"Well..?" I ask. "She'll be okay. ... she wishes to speak to you. I'll give you two some privacy" Sage pats my shoulder as she walks off.

~ Your POV ~

Chamber walks into the clinic. We both remain silent for a few seconds. "Sage told me you stood up against Yoru for me... why?" I look down. "Isn't it obvious? I like you, Y/n. But you've made it clear that you don't feel the same way" he replies. "what...?" I look up at him. "I've tried to talk to you multiple times, yet you always push me away" he explains.

"I didn't know you liked me. And I didn't want to get attached to you, otherwise it will hurt when you leave me" you say. He kneels beside you and places his hand on top of yours. "I would never leave you, Y/n. You're so precious to me" he speaks softly. "...I'm so sorry..." tears start rolling down your face. "No, no. It's okay. It's okay" he holds you. "can we start over?" You say. "Of course we can" he embraces you.
