The next day
I woke up from the sound of screams and the smell of fire.
I jolted out of bed and sprinted to the nearest window, and what I saw shocked me to the core.
'PILLAGERS!' It was a raid.
They were burning buildings, looting homes, killing animals and capturing villagers.
It was a scary sight. I quickly grabbed my flannel and converse and ran down stairs.
'I have to get the iron golem.' I thought as I ran out of the building.
Geez it was even scarier outside, the sky was so cloudy. I didn't have time to process when I saw an arrow fly next to me but missed by an inch and hit the wall behind me.
I flinched and looked up to see a pillager loading his cross bow ready to fire again.
'Oh, no.' I ran as fast as I could away from him as he shot and missed yet again.
While running I looked for the Iron golem but it didn't take long before I found them. They were fighting against a Ravengar and was losing brutally.
It looked like it was about to break. I felt terrible for the sight I was seeing but couldn't do anything.
'I wasn't strong enough.'
Suddenly I heard the sound of a cross bow loading from behind. I turned and saw another pillager ready to fire. I flinched and ran away.
'I have to get out of here.' That was the only thought that ran through my head.
Luckily, I know my way around the village so I knew the exit gate.
I picked up the pace as I ran through the chaos. I was so focused on the exit that I didn't notice a baby villager in front of me.
We crashed and fell to the ground.
"Ow!" We both whinced in pain.
I looked up to see who it was and my eyes widened as I saw him.
It was Carson, one of the baby villagers that I use to play with.
He looked so sad and scared, tears welled up at the corner of his eyes while he trembled.
I felt so sorry for him and gave him a big hug.
"Don't worry Carson, it will be fine." I whispered still cuddling him, he relaxed a bit. I pulled away and put my arm on his shoulder. "We're are your parents?"
His breathing began to pick up the pace.
"Th-they're captured." He hiccuped before he began to sod.
"Oh Carson." I felt so bad for him, but I knew we couldn't stay here any longer. "I'm sorry." I paused. "But we have to go, we have to leave this village or they'll capture us."
He looked up at me. "B-but w-what about my p-parents." He stammered
"We'll come back for them, I promise." I reasussured him.
Carson looked in thought for a while before nodding. "O-okay." He agreed.
I took his hands and continued to run while he tried his best to keep up.
We kept on running and finally the exit was in sight. I picked up my pace and Carson did the same.
We where nearly there but I felt Carson's hand get yanked away from mine. I immediately stopped and turned to see Carson being carried away by a Pillager riding a Ravenger.
He screamed and cried while he tried to escape but it was no use his grip was to tight.
Before I could do anything there were out of sight. I didn't know where they ran to so I couldn't find them.
A Vex suddenly appeared next to me and tried to stab me but luckily I dogded. It started to chase me and I ran towards the exit.
I felt a pain in my heart as I ran away from the village. I had successfully escaped, but I didn't stop running. I kept running even though my legs were hurting.
I endured the pain and kept running until I tripped on something and fell face first into the ground.
I wanted to get up but I was to tired and dizzy and before I knew it I blacked out.
