"Alright, I'm literally gonna punch them in their dumb little faces!" I shout.
"No you're not," Alyssa says.
"I know..." I admit, "But I wanna!"
"Me too, but we gotta think about what we're gonna do right now about the tires," Alyssa responds.
"I'll call roadside assistance but it might take them some time to get out here," I say.
"That's fine."
I turn my phone on and put in the number for the roadside assistance and click the call button. The call immediately ends, and I look back down at my phone and realize that I have no signal.
"Shit," I say. "Do you have any signal?"
Alyssa looks at her phone and shakes her head. "No bars," she says.
Realization hits us as we know we're gonna have to walk all the way back to Luis's house. We're only a few miles away, but still - it's night out and we're in an unknown area. Besides that, Jacob and Tim could have other plans for us up their sleeves...
Monday morning
Well you may be wondering what happened that night...
Not too much to be honest, luckily. We made it back to Luis's house and he drove us back to both of our houses. We could have used his landline to call roadside assistance, but by that point we had just decided that I would leave my car on the side of the road for the night.
Luis dropped Alyssa off at her house first and I gave him a hard time because he should've dropped me off first so he could talk with Alyssa. He keeps assuring me that he has no idea what I'm talking about. I also did feel a little bad afterwards because Travis does seem like a nice guy and it's not like I would be mad if Alyssa and him were together, so I've decided that I'm not gonna push it further with anyone when it comes to this.
We have practice again today after school and I'm excited to get back to it. I have a narly bruise on my side, but it seems to be healing just fine. I pray to all things good that I won't have to bat off of Jacob again today, but hey - maybe Peter would punch him in the face if that happens. I would love that.
I'm in first period Chem right now and we're working on a lab. While we work, Bene, Luis and I try to come up with a punishment for the losing red team from Friday.
"Okay, so over the weekend I've thought of some pretty great punishments," Bene says excitedly.
"Of course you did," Julien says.
"Hey! Butt out of the conversation, the winners are talking," Bene responds.
"Go on," Luis says.
"Okay, so I was thinking we could have this rule where whenever someone from the winning team wants a sandwich, someone from the losing team has to get it and they can't complain about it," Bene says.
Alyssa lets out a muffled snort as she tries not to laugh at the idea. I almost do the same.
"Umm... I like the idea, I do... but maybe something a little more practical?" I ask, and I can kind of see some disappointment cross Bene's face. I immediately feel bad.
Luis tries to chime in to cheer Bene back up. "What's more practical then a 24/7 sandwich delivery team?" he asks me.
Bene immediately points at Luis with a smile for agreeing with his idea. "See!" he says, "Some people have vision."
I almost throw my hands up in defense before I realize that I'm holding a beaker full of liquid. What kind of liquid? I actually have no idea.
"Alright, alright. Well, you said you came up with a couple of ideas, so what are the others?" I ask.
