As a child, you have this overwhelming feeling of being less then

Of always being controlled by adults

And I personally never stood for it

This is part of the reason why my mother and I argued so very much

I didn't want to be controlled

I felt trapped

When you're born you're stuck on your parent's side

You listen to them

When you get older you start to get a feel of the world and maturity falls on you

And here's where lesson number one comes in

Don't give in

To anyone's needs, including your parents

yes it's spectacular to help them

and you do need to

but giving in to your parents constantly is something you start to regret

and I wish I could tell Eleven year old Emmalee

There goes young Emmalee having to take the blame for something you know you did not do

because we all know what happens when you respond

I walk into the kitchen to be yelled at where the blow drier was

I tell my mom lets call her

Emilia

''I have no reason to take it'' I claim

she responds

''Exactly you have your own''

and I state ''exactly ''

''So why is it not in the bag ''she states

''I don't know I've been in school all day ''she gets all fired up and leaves the blame upon me

I go check the bag

And bada bing bada boom there is the magical blow drier

After constant arguments, you start to give in

But it utterly destroys all character

Leaves you defenseless in the world

Because you're always going to be a five-year-old glued to your parents

And when your older

Who's going to make decisions

Not your parents

And I'm telling you, you don't even have to be an adult to realize decision-making gets harder

When you are thirteen you give in to social standards

To what you think ''boys want''

you change yourself and lose yourself

even though you are perfectly fine

When you are thirteen you give in to teachers

Did you ever know your teacher was wrong and stood up but got shunned just because of their age?

So If this is thirteen year old, Amelia, Sarah, Jessica, etc

This is your lesson number one
