Our First Meeting (In Years)

I still couldn't believe what I am currently seeing right now. The person that I've been looking for all these years is now standing in front of me.

"P'Freen?" That's all that I was able to say. P'Freen was standing there beside P'nam, she still has that long hair that flows past her shoulder. Her white button down shirt that was tucked into her denim pants really suits her. It made her look handsome especially when she pull up those sleeves.

Wait, did I just say that she's handsome? I must be out of my mind. This is embarrassing. She smiled at me and I find myself smiling back at her.

To be honest, this is our first interaction since I first saw her in the music room. Even though I always went there to listen to her sing, I never dared to go and speak with her. Back then, I was afraid that I might disturb her during her practice. But now, I regret it. I regret that I never had the courage to talk to her before she stopped coming to school.

"Becky," My thoughts were cut off when I saw P'nam waving at me. "Huh? Yes?" "Are you alright?" P'nam asked. I must be spacing out for too long. "I'm alright. What were you saying?" I asked. "I was asking if you want to come with us. We're looking for a place to eat when we saw you." P'nam replied. The two of them were looking at me expectingly, and I don't have the heart to turn them down, especially that I haven't seen them in a while. "Okay, I'll go with you."

Freen's POV

The three of us arrived at a nearby café. The staff recognized was so happy upon recognizing Becky when we entered. Apparently, staff was her fan and Becky ended up giving her an autograph. Somehow, watching her like this, makes me proud of her accomplishments.

We chose the corner of the Cafe, where there aren't much people. Nam was the one who ordered for us. I didn't have to tell her what I want since she already knew it.

I can't help but smile as the two of them talk. They have really became really close since Becky joined the music club.

"P'Freen?" Becky said. "Are you okay? You haven't spoken since earlier."

Nam looked at me, looking worried. Becky looked at us in confusion. I know this will happen if I started meeting other people from high school.

"Uhm, Becky, Freen can no longer speak." Nam answered for me. Becky looked at me, looking confused. She looked cute though when she's confused. I nodded. And to my surprise she suddenly speak to me in sign language. "What happened?"

Nam and I looked both surprised. "Car accident." I replied. Somehow it made me feel relieved that she knows how to do sign language. I won't have to use my phone's app to type in what I want to say and have it played, in order to communicate properly.

The food arrived. Becky ordered for milk tea and a club house sandwich. Nam ordered Pad Thai for the two of us. I have jasmine tea and she has milk tea as well. We ate and I just listened to the two of them talk about different things.

Actually, I like watching them like this. They are fun to watch.

My phone light up and saw an incoming notification.

I tapped on Nam and Becky and I gestured that I have to go because of work.

I want to stay but we have an emergency and I have to go or else I'm going to be scolded again.

Becky's POV

I watched as P'Freen went out of the Cafe. I still can't believe that I will be able to see her again after all these years. But something bothers me. "Car accident." when she signed that, it made me worried about her.

"What are you thinking?" P'nam asked. "Nothing." I responded, but she doesn't seem to believe me. "She's been through a lot." P'nam said.

"Huh?"

"Nothing. Don't mind me. Just eat."
