My Best Friend's Dad

Chapter 2

"Oh shi"- His words were cut off by Liz knocking on the door.

"Uh... This never happened." He said walking away from me and to the door.

"Yes Lizzie, what is it? Why are you home so early?" He asked out of breath.

"Well mum was wrong, they close at eight. Why are you two in the library? Alone." She asked raking her fingers through her hair.

"Oh, I was just showing her my books, that's all. So the video store wasn't open?" He asked trying to change the subject.

"No, it was closed. Baby and I are going to the Cinema to watch a movie and then I am going to take her home." I stood beside her and looked at my shoes. I didn't want to make eye contact with him.

"I thought you were going to sleep over?" He asked me. "She was but Ash called me. He said he wanted to come over...to work on a project."

Typical Liz, she always blows me off.

"Ash is not coming over." He said sternly walking past us.

"Why not?" Liz whined. "Because Baby is our guest."

"Baby is fine with it. Aren't you Baby?" They both turned to me simultaneously. I bit my bottom lip.

Honestly I'm not. I told my mum I was spending the night.

"Yeah sure, I just need a ride home." I shrugged.

"Dad could you please take her home?" Liz asked. "No, you guys are going to the movies."

"Actually Ash is here now." God that brat, why am I friends with her again?

"Alright but next time"- He was about to finish. "Thank you thank you Dad!" She ran to him and hugged him.

Great now I have to endure the most awkward car ride ever. She walked back over to me.

"Listen I am so sorry Baby, I promise I will never blow you off like this again. It's just Ash is like the hottest guy on earth! Please forgive me?" She hugged me.

"Yeah whatever but you owe me." I smiled. "Yeah I do. Come over tomorrow and dress nice, okay?"

"Why?"

"Because I am going to pay my dues, just be here at six and dress nice." I looked at her weirdly.

"Hurry up I don't have all day!" Mr. Tomlinson yelled.

I walked/ran to his car outside. He drove a Ferrari. I think I almost passed out.

I took my next step and tripped over my shoe lace. He ran over to me. "Here let me help you."

"No, I got it." I said fixing my dress. He looked like he was about to die laughing.

"Don't laugh, it wasn't funny." I pouted. "It was kind of funny." He started laughing so hard that wrinkles formed next to his eyes. He was cute.

"Whatever, Mr. I'm in a hurry, let's go." I said walking to the car.

I pulled the door but it wouldn't open. I pulled it again. I heard soft laughter behind me. "Maybe you should try pulling harder." He laughed.

"You try it." I put my hand on my hip.

He walked over and pulled the door up. Oh this is a fancy car.

I blushed and pulled a strand of hair behind my ear.

I got in and he shut the door. He got in on his side and started the car.

We drove for a bit. We passed my house like six times, because he claimed he didn't see it. We finally pulled into my driveway.

"Thank you for driving me home."

"Anytime. About the library..."

"Let's not talk about it." I said. He placed his hand on my bare knee. I gasped.

He brought his lips closer to mine and unbuckled his seat belt. "You're right, why talk when we can..."

"Baby is that you?" My mother called from the front porch.

He sat back in his seat. I opened my door and got out. "I will see you again Baby." He said darkly.

He took off fast. "Who was that?" My mother asked.

"Liz, anyway I couldn't spend the night her relatives came over." I said walking up to her.

"Liz looks very handsome."
