Hayes sat quietly in the farthest corner of the hospital room with her sharp jaw digging silently into her opened palm. The brunette awkwardly bit the inside of her cheek as she felt the lingering stares of Tara's friends being thrown her miserable way. She had been discharged from the hospital a few hours ago despite her injuries from almost being torn apart and gutted straight like a careless fish.
The room had been completely engulfed in an uncomfortable silence as Chad tapped his foot against the floorboards of the hospital room. The boy had his thumb in front of his mouth, biting down on his damaged nail. He fought the raging urge to start a conversation with the descendent of a killer, but Amber's threatening glare burned into the side of his head.
Mindy always had her dear brother's back no matter how stupid his decisions were sometimes. She ignored her friend's lingering stares full of hatred and disgust towards the nervous and sleep deprived brunette. Mindy leaned back in her seat, sighing heavily as her eyes drifted towards Tara staring straight at Hayes without saying a single word.
The raven head's tried eyes were laced with something she couldn't quite put her finger on. Mindy narrowed her eyes, studying the brunette girl sitting quietly across from her. Hayes was fairly attractive to the human eye, even she couldn't find a single visible flaw wrong with the troubled girl.
A smug grin ripped across her delicate face. Tara carpenter had her beautiful brown eyes set on her best friend. Mindy crossed her arms over her chest throwing Wes a pitiful look. The sheriff's son stood no chance against the descendant of a killer. Hayes Slater had Tara's heart wrapped around her rough fingers without knowing.
Chad inhaled sharply almost jumping up from his seat as the hospital door opened, revealing an old but familiar face. Sam took in a deep breath at the sight of her younger sister. She gave her grip around the strap of her bag before kneeling down at Tara's hospital bedside. "How are you feeling?" She questioned, hesitantly placing a hand over her sister's pale skin.
Hayes slowly scooted her chair back, slamming her eyes shut at the splinting pain erupting from her stitches. Tara let out a shaky breath, glancing down at the brunette's jittering hand clutching her wound. She acknowledged her sister presence with a gentle smile before bringing her worried stare back to the girl that owned her heart. "You came" she whispered.
Sam studied her sister's lifeless eyes, glancing between the small fragments of worry and pain flashing behind her dilated pupils. "Of course I came" she murmured, slowly looking back at the boy she came with. "This is my boyfriend, Richie" Tara finally tore her eyes away from a hurting Hayes.
