I watched as Sparrow walked away, feeling conflicted about what he had said. I knew he was right, we didn't have freedom here. But was it worth risking everything to escape? I turned to Celestyn, who was looking at me with concern.-Venn, are you okay?- Cel asked.
-I don't know,- I replied. -What if he's just trying to trick us? What if he's working for the people who keep us here? What if he wants to control us?
Celestyn put a hand on my shoulder. -We don't know for sure, but we can't ignore the possibility that he's telling the truth. We need all the help we can get if we want to escape.-
I sighed, knowing they were right. -I just don't want to get my hopes up- I said.
-I understand, Venn. But we can't let fear hold us back. We have to take a chance- Cel replied
We walked back into the campus-Castle, both lost in our own thoughts. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about Sparrow, but I couldn't ignore the hope his words had given me. Maybe, just maybe, we could escape this place and find a place we could call our real home.
But for now, all we could do was wait for Sparrow's next visit, and hope that he wasn't just playing us for fools. Later Cel came and told me more about Sparrows plan and how we should trust him for now.
I nodded, understanding his point. -But how do we even begin to plan an escape? We don't know anything about the outside world-
-We'll have to start by gathering information- Celestyn said. -We can talk to the other students and see if anyone has any knowledge or experience that could help us. And we can try to observe the adults and their patterns to see if there are any weaknesses we can exploit. Also we need to get a team, Gold and Tuv we have to take with us for sure-
I thought about their suggestions, realizing that they were practical and realistic. -Okay, let's do it. But we have to be careful. We don't want to put ourselves or anyone else in danger-
Celestyn nodded. -You're right. We'll have to be smart and strategic about it-
As we walked to Gold's room, I felt a sense of determination building within me. We might not have freedom now, but we were going to do everything in our power to change that.
