The Past:

He's never seen such a creature, only in fables and stories from Julie, his dear best friend. But now he has, but aren't they usually more human like? Ya know, not with light purple skin and a dark purple tail? Oh who are we kidding this is Welcome Home, nothing is human like. But even this was out of line.

"Hello? My name is Frank Frankly. What is yours... Mermaid?? Siren??"

He exclaimed to her, holding out his hand for a handshake. But she didn't accept, just stared at his hand.

"What's a handshake?"

"I couldn't believe it, Julie! She was right in front of me, purple like a butterfly!!"

"Now Frank, you're going crazy. Mermaids are only in storytimes, not in real life!"

"But I saw her, you gotta believe me. You're my best friend after all!"

He was in shock that his dear best friend, didn't believe him. She KNOWS he's always serious, no joking matter. How could she not trust him in this?

He sighed, leaving her frontdoor to walk down to his house. All defeated and gloomy.. Like usual but still. He usually had a frown on his face, bit this was different.

Though, he kept thinking about HER. He hadn't even gotten her name, let alone a handshake! Maybe next time..

It's been weeks upon weeks, and he's gone to that exact spot for almost everyday. Finding out her name, which is Coral. Finding out som of her interests, and she even gave him some pearls!! Maybe now he can finally show Julie the truth..

But there was something she said to him.
