minho's not crazy.

sure, he went to a psychologist once. and by once he meant multiple sessions with one psychologist. but that was back in high school.

he was growing up and his parents thought their son had to figure things out so they sent their son to therapy.

it's never easy to be an only child that is also gay.

his parents were, and still are, not homophobic. they just couldn't quite process the fact that their bloodline could possibly end with their son because of his sexuality.

wait, where was he again?

ah yes, minho's not crazy.

he could swear he saw —or felt— something when he grabbed that man's wrist last night. and thinking about it made him lose another night of sleep.

without minho realising, it's already morning. and his alarm starts blaring. the alarm was cut quite short, however. the man was already awake.

"shit," was all he could mutter.

today will most definitely not be a good day, he thought. he went straight to shower, still thinking about the familiar stranger.

went to the kitchen, still thinking about him. made his cup of coffee, still thinking about him. waiting for his toasts to finish toasting, still—

you get the idea.

minho was not the type to bring personal issues outside of his home. he'd usually leave them at his door (sometimes literally) before he goes out for classes or any other reasons so that he can deal with those issues when he's home again.

but this one was tough.

on his way to the dance studio, he dropped by for a cup of more coffee to-go. with everything that's messing with his head right now, minho didn't think he would be able to go through his dance class today without at least another cup of coffee.

when he opened that door, he was greeted by the man at the counter. ah yes, chan's working today.

"one iced americano, to go please," minho said, already fishing out his wallet from his bag. it was luckily not that silent in that coffee shop as there were sound of machines and people chattering.

so it wasn't an awkward silence.

"you look tired. are you okay?" chan asked as he keyed in the order and took minho's debit card from minho's hand, telling him the total all at the same time.

of course he'd notice, minho thought to himself.

"i'm good. just couldn't sleep that much last night," minho shared. he probably shouldn't have, but he did anyway.

"anything to share? i can take a break and we can sit somewhere for a chat," chan offered, and minho knew taking a break in a morning shift shouldn't be easy.

minho works here too, remember? he knows how busy it can be.

"no, it's alright. i'm on my way to something anyway," minho said. he genuinely didn't want to interrupt chan's working hours. especially since it's quite early in the morning and the coffee shop was quite packed with people that needed their morning coffee, even if their morning coffee is a Frappuccino.

"ah alright then," chan smiled before he handed minho his debit card back along with the receipt. "here's the receipt. your name will be called once your coffee's ready"

"thank you, chan," minho said with a smile, which chan responded with an even sweeter smile before calling up the next customer.

he sat down at one of the small tables and took out his phone to open Instagram.

wrong move.

as if this morning is not dreadful enough for him, an Instagram post popped up on his feed.

'tonite was a blast!! thx to DJ @CB97 for being here' the caption writes. the person in the picture was one of his ex-classmates with none other than that notorious DJ from last night. other people can be seen in the next few slides too.

as he reached slide five, a familiar face popped up like a jumpscare to him.

fucking yugyeom.

but that's beside the point.

minho clicked on the tag to the DJ's profile, and gosh that faceless man is gorgeous.

but his feed is just full of either reels of him DJ'ing at a club, or thirst traps.

and oh was minho trapped.

"what are you looking at?" a voice shocked minho enough to abruptly hide his phone, screen side down.

"just.. cats videos," minho replied, trying not to make it too obvious that he was stalking a hot man's profile. "aren't you supposed to be working?"

chan raised his eyebrows. "i'm taking a break for a bit. there's less people now anyway. i'll get back in after you leave," chan grinned, setting the drinks on the tiny table before taking a seat himself in front of minho.

they sat in silence for a bit, both sipping their drinks.

chan broke the silence after a while. "so what's up with you this morning?"

minho looked at chan, "huh?"

"you seem grumpy," chan simply said, hand gesturing at minho's face.

"oh," minho looked down to his drinks. then he looked back up and leaned forward to chan, half-whispering, "can i ask you something?"

seeing this, chan also leaned towards minho. "sure. but why are we whispering?" chan softly giggled.

minho rolled his eyes, his smile barely contained. "just shut up and let me ask you this; do you believe in soulmates?"

chan leaned back. "is there a reason for me not to?"

"no?"

"then yes i do believe in soulmates," chan sipped his own drink.

minho asked another, "have you heard of the 'violet eyes theory'?" he looked at chan, realising how chan's eyes never actually met him through this entire conversation.

chan thought for a while before answering, "i have, actually. do you think it's true?"

"me?" minho looked at chan. "i mean my friend found his current boyfriend because of that theory."

"really?" chan said, clearly amused.

minho nodded. "yeah. actually, i also d— "

suddenly, minho's phone started vibrating. he picked it up and see the caller ID.

'hyunjinnie', the caller ID showed.

"oh shit i need to get going," minho said, quickly grabbing his stuff. chan put his drinks on the table and stood up too, waving to minho as he walked out.

when chan looked down to pick up his drink, he realised something.

"he left his wallet," chan said, picking it up and putting it in his pocket. he planned to give it back the next time they meet.
