Percy's POV

Betrayal. Pain. Heartbreak. All these feelings rushed through my mind as I thought back to the events that happened earlier.

10 minutes earlier

I was so excited. I had gotten the blessing of my girlfriend's mom, Athena, to marry my sweet little Annabeth by doing 5 tasks for Athena (which I will not name since it might kill me to tell you how those tasks went). I was right now walking back to Camp Half-Blood with the ring I asked Hephaestus to make for me. Oh, if only I could explain the joy that was rushing inside me!

As I went past the camp's borders, I could already tell something was wrong. Everybody was staring at me like they were saying, I feel so bad for you. Whispers could be heard everywhere. What was going on? Did something attack camp again? I hope not since I need enough wars on my shoulders to worry about. I asked a few campers and all they replied with was "Everything is fine." What I did hear from the whispering was one word, Annabeth. Did something happen to her? Is she safe? Where was she? I quickened my pace to search for her, to make sure she was okay and to propose to her as well.

I searched the Big House, the strawberry fields, the sword arena, the woods, pretty much everywhere. The only place I had left to search was the beach. The only reason why I hadn't searched the beach yet was because the smell of the sea might distract me.

As I approached the shore of Long Island Sound, I heard a couple kiss. I shrugged, thinking that is was just a random couple and I was about to leave when I noticed the girl had blonde hair. The girl kissing the boy was Annabeth!

I could feel my shattering inside my chest, all those pieces flying around and stinging me on the inside. Tears welled up in my eyes. I shouted "Annabeth, how could you?!" Annabeth's eyes widened in surprise as she stopped kissing the boy and turned to face me. "Percy, I can explain-," started Annabeth, but I cut her off. "No! Annabeth I loved you with my heart yet you still cheated on me! You knew my fatal flaw was loyalty, you knew I would never cheat on me, and you still cheated! HOW COULD YOU?!" By this time I was practically screaming with so much force that Annabeth flinched at the sound of my voice. "Percy, I am truly sorry. Please forgive me," pleaded Annabeth but I said "NO! You literally kissed a guy right in front of me! We are through, you hear me? We are THROUGH!" I shouted.

I stormed back to my cabin and started packing my stuff. Camp Half-Blood had too many memories of me and Annabeth and it was just too painful to remain here any longer. I scribbled a note to let the other campers know that I was leaving and left it on the porch of the Big House. I then left the camp borders and out into the mortal world.

 Back to the Present

So here I am. Walking out in the mortal world thinking about what happened to me. I seriously needed to talk to the fates. I mean, what did I ever do to deserve this? Why did the fates allow this to happen? Surely after everything I've done, I should've been able to finally relax. Instead, the fates throw this event at me and I can't stop thinking about what might've happened differently if the fates didn't interfere.

So anyway as I walked on the streets of Manhattan, a bright figure appeared behind me and started to approach me. In the Greek Mythology World, this spells double trouble.

I ran down the sidewalk, trying to outrun the figure behind me. I managed to make it to Central Park before I collapsed from tiredness and sleepiness. The last thing I saw was the glowing figure coming up to me before I drifted off to the realm of Morpheus.

So, what did you think?

This is my first story ever so I hope it turns out good.
