Percy's POV

Demigod dreams suck.

I found myself in a black void, with no solid floor or anything solid in particular. I tried to breath in, but I coughed the air right back out. After my experience with Tartarus, I did not need any more poisonous air.

"Where am I?" I croaked out to no one in particular. "What is going on?"

The air shimmered in front of me and then the three Fates appeared.

If you have ever seen the Fates, you might think of them as three old grandmothers instead of the deities that control your destiny and the future. The last time I saw them was on Mount Olympus after the Second Titan War. Their faces were wrinkled and they wore tattered dresses.

The one who stood on the left was Clotho, the one who spun the thread of human fate. The one who stood on the right was Lachesis, the one who measured how long the thread would be, and the one who stood in the middle was Atropos, the one who determined when somebody was going to die by cutting the string.

"Perseus Jackson!" the all said in unison. "We have decided that it is important to show you this one vision of your future that will determine what will happen in the upcoming events."

Atropos then put her finger on my forehead and then a vision flashed across my eyes, almost as creepy as the Fates themselves.

In the vision, a couple and their daughter ran through a forest, the couple chasing their daughter. Trees rustled above them. The tops of the trees blocked the sunlight, but the family didn't seem to mind

"My god, Zoe, you're just too fast!" said the man between breaths.

His daughter just giggled and ran faster and faster. The man eventually had to sit down and rest for a few minutes.

"Zoe, the game's over. Come over here," he ordered. His daughter obeyed and sat on his lap.

"My, my, Zoe you must have gotten your speed from your mother," the man said while the woman just smiled.

"If you want to be faster than your daughter, then you should've trained more with me, husband," said the woman.

The man laughed. "Your training sessions are tiring enough, my love."

The man then turned to me and with a shock, I realized the man standing so close to me was, well, me. But then, who was the wife?

She looked like...

But before I could figure out who the woman was,  Atropos removed her finger and I found myself back in the black void.

"Who was the woman?" I asked but the Fates just shook their heads.

"You know we cannot interfere with fate," they said sadly. "You must find out on your own in time to come." The landscape started to blur, as if I was leaving Morpheus's realm and going back to the real world.

"Wait! At least tell me who my partner is going to be. Who am I destined to be with?"

"Goodbye Percy Jackson." Their voice faded to a whisper. "You'll find out soon enough."

The landscape around me completely blacked out.

<Time Skip>

I gasped, and sat up too fast, which I immediately regretted. Nausea and pain swam through me. Black spots danced in my eyes.

"Woah there cuz," said a familiar voice. "You've had a long day, so try to rest."

I blinked, trying to take in my surroundings. I lay on some sort of medical bed. A machine that measured my heartbeat beeped on my right. Medical books sat on shelves across the room. A computer sat on a desk to his left that showed my health stats. Most surprisingly, a man leaned on the door, with a mischievous smile, twinkling eyes, and a winged helmet and winged sandals.

My throat caught up in my chest as I realized who was standing a few feet in front of me.

"You're Hermes," I managed to say.

Hermes chuckled and grinned, his eyes twinkling even more. "Took you long enough to recognize me cuz."

"I'm sorry, Lord Hermes. My mind hasn't been in its right, well, mind lately."

He waved his hand. "None of that lord business; we're on good terms. Now, if you can stand, Zeus requires your presence."

How was that for a chapter everyone? Nice cliffhanger, don't you think? Also sorry for not updating earlier since I had school stuff plus it was my birthday (don't ask for my age) so I was kinda busy. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
