Note to Reader: In the magical world I have made up, Covid19 does not exist (simply because I wish it didn't).
Also: There is a brief chapter after this as an accompaniment. It is smut. 18+ If that is not your thing.... skip. It is completely not necessary for the story. =).

Chapter Eleven
You had asked him to take you home.
He was sure you probably meant back to your apartment, but from Ice Rink Sendai, the distance seemed a world away. Maybe it was because he was so worried by your silence from the passenger seat or maybe it was just irrational fear, but Yuzuru found himself taking a shorter option—He drove the three of you to his apartment instead.
After parking his father's car in the garage spot he never actually used before, Yuzuru took a sleeping Yuki inside and then returned for you. You had barely woken up throughout the entire process.
Putting his son to bed for the first time was something that would undoubtedly sit in Yuzuru's memory for many nights to come. In truth, tucking Yuki into the sheets of his guestroom's bed and watching his little belly take deep breaths as he slept may have been one of the best parts of his week. Although, he would have enjoyed it much more if he wasn't so concerned about you.
When you were at the rink you looked so pale and translucent, but now, laying on his bed you were flushed. Your cheeks were a dark pink and your hair was beginning to stick to your face with sweat. The now tussled sheets below you described just how much you had been tossing and turning in a fevered fit.
Whimpering, your eyes hazily opened when the sensitive skin of his wrist made contact with your forehead.
You spoke out blindly, "Yuki."
Yuzuru understood what you needed to hear immediately, "He's fine, sleeping."
His words calmed you and within seconds your eyes were closing and you were drifting back to sleep again.
Yuzuru may have been dense when it came to taking care of another person, but he knew enough to know he couldn't just let you sleep like this and you would need to break this fever.
There was also a large part of him that was still considering taking you to see a physician. He didn't know just how high a fever or just how ragged breaths were allowed to get before he should really be concerned.
Was he overreacting? Or, was he not worried enough? You seemed very adamant against going to the hospital, but maybe he shouldn't have listened to you.
To make matters worse, the only medicine he had in his house was pain medication, and not even the type that doubled as a fever reducer. It also wasn't as if he could just run up to the store with Yuki. Yuzuru showing up with a miniature version of himself would likely cause quite the scene. He couldn't leave the boy unattended here, either.
Unable to help you on his own he had tried to call his sister and then Keiji, but neither of them answered. His calls had almost immediately went to voicemail despite multiple attempts. Yuzuru cursed their weird behavior that seemed to only be getting even more odd as of late.
That left him with just one other resource he could think of— his mother—who still had no idea about his... situation.
He knew his mother suspected something serious had happened to him. His change in behavior and mysterious absences over the last few months were obvious. She had been carefully prodding and questioning him almost daily, but he had just as carefully avoided answering her.
