Chapter 5: I Think He Knows

Y/N was admitted to the hospital the night of the attack.

Taehyun kept pressing his friends for answers but they didn't have any.

"I remember her saying someone was trying to sabotage the tournament but I thought she was just jealous." Yeonjun said looking at Taehyun.

Taehyun ran a stressed hand through his black hair.

The doctor walked in making Taehyun and his friends look up.

"She's fine." He said making everyone relieved. "She has a minor concussion but she's awake now."

Taehyun thanked the doctor before he and his friends came rushing to her room.

Y/N was sitting up looking around. She had a bandage around her head as she looked at the five boys who bursted into hospital room.

"Jeez you could've knocked." She said and crossed her arms.

Taehyun walked over to her bed side. "Y/N I need you to tell me what happened."

Y/N looked at him. "When you went up to fight I noticed a guy walking onto the platform, only he wasn't a stage hand." She looked away from him. "I went up to see him cutting the wire on that karate metal thing. But I know this was an attack from Yuka. When I confronted him I saw the snake tattoo on his neck."

"So it was an attempt to kill Taehyun."Soobin said.

Y/N nodded. "I was able to stop him but he got flung into the wire and it cut. After that he ran away."

Taehyun nodded listening to everything as he walked away from her bedside.

Yeonjun stopped him from walking out. "Woah dude you can't just walk away."

Taehyun looked at him. "I need to get answers. This attack is a big deal."

Yeonjun narrowed his eyes at him. "Look she saved your life, she's at least owed a thanks."

Taehyun looked at his other friends as they all nodded and left the room, leaving him alone.

Y/N looked over at him and Taehyun turned around. He grabbed a waiting chair and pulled it up to her bedside before sitting.

"Thank you...for you know saving me." Taehyun said softly.

Y/N shrugged. "I was just helping."

Taehyun looked at her as she gazed back at him. "I know we don't necessarily like each other but it means a lot to me."

Y/N looked down at her hands as she gave him her first genuine smile. "Your welcome, you're not too bad. Just annoys me I've got to keep this wrap on my head for a week!" She groaned.

Taehyun laughed and slipped off her bedside.

"So what are you going to do? I'm sure this is only foreshadowing the worst that's to come." Y/N said.

Taehyun shook his head. "I don't know. One thing for certain is everyone has to be on high alert now. We've got a target on our backs, especially you." Taehyun said poking her nose.

Y/N scrunched her nose. "Don't touch me asshole."

"And we're back to normal." Taehyun sighed. "So when did the doctor say you're discharged?"

"He said I can go home in a few days. They have to monitor my brain function or whatever to make sure everything is healing properly."

Taehyun got up and put the chair back. "Well don't push yourself too hard. We still need you y'know." He said with a small smile.
