"Nat." Yaris mutters patting my hip . "Nat" She repeats, flustered tossing the pillow at me.

I assume she's been calling my name for a while.

"What?" I groaned faced down in my flimsy pillow.

"Someone's on the phone asking for you. I'm not sure who it is though. They have been calling for a while." She says in a dry tone.

I could feel her eyes peering into my soul as
I get up from my bed to walk past her.
"Uhm, okay I'll get it.."

I make my way out to the hallway stand with the unhooked phone to pick it up.

"Hello?" I groaned into the phone.

"Well Good morning, someone sounds like they're behind." He says plainly.

His voice put an odd ripple in my spine making me uneasy.

For a moment my mind fills with curiosity. I don't recall giving him the number to the house phone at all.

"Explains why you missed my calls." He says matter-of-factly interrupting my thoughts.

"I am a bit behind. Sorry." I whisper lowly watching Yaris peak out at me from the doorway of my room, making me mind my tone more.

"No need to be sorry..Apologize to me by being ready in the next 15 minutes. I'll be sending for you. I'd like for you to have breakfast with me, tie up some loose ends maybe." He says from the other end of the phone .

"But I was going to meet with the financial aid adviso—

"No need to worry yourself, I'm a man of my word, I assure you, it's covered." He says confidently. " You'll proceed with your classes as usual, next Tuesday. "

"Oh." I respond in the matter of surprise, because I really was.

In a matter of a night, everything changed?

"Thanks."

"Pleasure's mine." He retorts and sighs. "..Now, 15-20 minutes..a driver will be waiting for you..leaving him waiting is leaving me waiting. I don't like to wait. "

"Right." I awkwardly respond. "..do you...need my address?" I asks timidly. It was probably the dumbest question yet. He found my home number.

"Trust, I don't need it. See you soon, angelface." He says eventually hanging up the phone right after.

I sigh setting the phone on the hook. Does he know where I live too? How would he even know that? The more the questions ran through my head, the more anxious I felt.

I didn't expect to be keeping him company this soon, and I had no idea what to wear.

"So, you gonna explain why you were taken home after being out of sight for up to 45 minutes last night? " Yaris says with folded arms standing right behind me. "You didn't even say anything to me before leaving. I was looking all over the place for you thinking somebody snatched your rabbit ass up."

"I just came home early." I reply lowly.

It felt weird keeping things from Yaris. Secrets alone were just a sacred game of ours and now she's out of the loop, bound to be offended.

"Who brought you home then?" She retorts quickly with her arms folded as she watched me go through my drawers for a fresh pair of underwear .

"Tucker." I say feeling the rush as I remembered my drive home last night.

I sat nervously in the chair he left me in while he stepped out. Playing with my fingers as I continue to play back in my mind on what happened.
