"Will you get in the car or should I wait until morning?" He said in an annoyed voice and took a drag from his cigarette. He had one hand on the steering wheel and the other out the window. Tiffany would be lying if she said she didn't like the way he looked. His hair was disheveled, not slicked back like usual. A small grin played on his features as always.

Tiffany thought for a long time whether to get into the car or not. She had the feeling that when she got into that car, she would feel uncomfortable. Just the way he looked at her gave her chills. Or she was just imagining that and it was the evening summer breeze that sent shivers down her body.

The summer breeze blew a bit stronger, causing Tiffany to put her hands on her breasts and start stroking herself with her fingertips. She looked around and "recalculated" in her head how long it would take her to walk home. She took a deep breath and kept looking around.

Rafe, during the time that Tiffany was stupidly looking around and wondering if she should get into the car or not, he managed to smoke an entire cigarette and he threw the cigarette butt on the ground. When he saw that the girl in the sweatshirt didn't answer him for a long time, he went to close the window and planned to go home. But at that moment her legs started to move, she opened the car door next to him and got in.

As soon as she sat down, Rafe could smell her perfume that smelled like cherries. He smiled softly at the smell and turned his gaze to the road. Tiffany placed her hands on her thighs and bit the inside of her cheek. She was looking out the window and watching the road. It was dark everywhere, only the tall lamps on the sidewalk were shining. They passed by fancy houses and Tiffany turned her nose up at that.

She realized that she should be happy for what she has and that she doesn't live like some people on the other side of the island. But sometimes she wishes she could just watch TV on an old, dried out couch and joke about everything she could think of. Her family was different in this. They almost never joked, they were always serious and that made Tiffany very angry.

Whenever she said something stupid or funny, her parents always told her that she shouldn't joke so much and that she should be serious. That is, especially her father, her mother was always quiet, but when her father was not at home, her mother joked with her.

Tiffany though that her mother is probably scared of him. It's not like he was abusing her, really no, but his voice was so rough and shrill that every time he raised his voice the slightest bit, her mother got scared. Tiff would be lying to herself if she said that her father didn't come across as creepy and mysterious in some strange way. Just looking at him sent shivers down Tiffany's body.

She swallowed and bit her lower lip as she remembered how her father had forbidden her to hangout with pogues and she had broken it. But she bit down too hard and felt a strange taste in her mouth. She gently touched her lip with her fingertips and then looked to see if it was what she really thought. And it was like that, a small spot of blood appeared on her fingertips. She sighed at that. This happened to her often and sometimes she was not even aware of it.

Tiffany leaned her head against the window and looked out the window again. It was quiet in the car the whole time. Neither of them uttered a single sound. Tiffany felt quite awkward when it was so quiet between them. But it seemed rather stupid to her that she is sitting right now in the car with a boy who she is not very fond of. She laughed at her own thought and Rafe raised his eyebrows slightly when he heard her laugh.
