The dead bolt clicks back on the front door. Scott steps aside to let Derek and Isaac in. "What's he doing here?" Scott asked pointing at Isaac, "I need him." "I don't trust him."
"Yeah, well, He doesn't trust you either." "And Derek and josh doesn't care. Now where's the vet and is he going to help us or not?" "That depends." They turn to see Deaton examination room watching them. "Your friend Jackson. Are we planning to kill him? Or save him?"
"Save him. "Kill him." Both Scott and Derek said at the same time, "Save him" Scott said glaring at Derek before look back at Deaton, "Save him." "Kill him" josh says
Deaton unlocks a drawer to reveal dozens of glass jars, different grains and petals inside. Most interesting to Derek's eyes are the Celtic symbols on each jar's lid - a Triquetra, an Awen, Taranis wheel and others. Isaac reaches for a jar but Derek grabs him by the wrist.
"What are you? Some kind of witch too?" Isaac asked"No, I'm a veterinarian. But I do have experience treating an unusually wide variety of animals."
He places the jar back with a look of dissatisfaction. "Unfortunately, I'm not sure if anything here is going to be an effective defense against a paralytic toxin." Deaton said
"We're open to suggestions." Derek said. "How about an effective offense?" Isaac asked.
"We tried." Derek says"I nearly ripped its head off and Argent emptied an entire clip into it. The thing just gets back up. If anything, I think it's getting stronger." "Has it shown any weaknesses?" "Well, One, It can't swim." "Neither can I " josh says
"Does that go for Jackson as well?" Deaton asked and "He's the captain of the swim team." Josh says
"Essentially you're trying to catch two people. A puppet and puppeteer." He says
"One killed the husband. But the other had to take care of the wife. Do we know why?"
"I don't think Jackson could do it. His mother died pregnant too. She might have been murdered. I think he couldn't let the same thing happen to someone else." Scott says .
"How do you know it's not part of the rules? The Kanima kills murderers. If Jackson killed the wife, the baby would have died too." Isaac said
"Then doesn't that mean your father was a murderer?" Josh asked "Wouldn't surprise me if he was."
"But the Bestiary said if the bond's strong enough, it'll kill whoever the Master wants it to"
"Hold on. The book says they're bonded. What if the fear of water isn't coming from Jackson, but from the person controlling him?" Deaton said "And that means what?" "It means we can catch them." Scott says. "Both of them"
With Scott riding shotgun Stiles pulls his Jeep into the parking lot amid students hurrying for first period. "There's got to be some other way to get tickets, right?" "It's a secret show. There's only one way. And it's a secret."
"Hey, any of you know why nobody's getting suspended for what happened the other day?" He asked "Forget about it. Nobody got hurt." "I got a concussion." "Nobody got seriously hurt." "I was in the ER for six hours." "Matt I don't care" josh says walking past
"You really want the truth, Matt? Your little bump on the head is about this high on our list of problems right now." Stiles says as he leans down "Are you okay?" "Yeah. Fine now." He says "And I saw you didn't get tickets last night either." "You know if they're still selling?"
"No. I managed to find two online. You should keep trying. Sounds like everyone's going to be there." He says "You sure about this?" Stiles asks "Last time, whoever's controlling Jackson had to kill someone because he couldn't finish the job. So what do you think he's going to do this time?"
Coach steps out of his office to address the tired players stripping off lacrosse gear after practice. "Can anyone tell me where the hell Jackson is or why he missed morning practice?"Stiles whispers to Scott
"Anyone at all? Stilinski?" Coach asks making Stiles look at him and shake his head, "Sorry Coach, I haven't seen him since the last time I saw him." He said making Coach confused, "When was that?"
"The last time I saw him? It was definitely the time I saw him last."
"Stilinski... I really don't like you. Danny, tell Jackson no missing practice when championships are coming up." Coach said
"Sorry, but I only got two tickets for myself." "Do you have a date yet?"
"I'm working on it."
"How about you give the tickets to us and devote yourself to a life of abstinence?" "How do you two losers even survive?" "What are we supposed to do? No one's selling." "Wait here."
. "Oh, that looks painful. That's just... yeah, that's not right."
Isaac returns and slaps two tickets against Scott and Stiles' chest
"I'm fine. Grab the other bag." "I can't. Remember, Deaton said you have to do it alone." "This plan is starting to suck." . "No... Not here. Not now."
"Scott? Scott what am I supposed to..Plan now officially sucks. It sucks!"
"Derek. Back off." Argent said. "Back off? That - that's really all you've got? I got to be honest, Chris. I was really expecting more from the, uh, big, bad veteran werewolf hunter." Derek says "Okay, then. How about... Didn't anyone ever tell you not to bring claws to a gunfight?"
"Think I stopped healing." Boyd said "Bullets laced with wolfsbane. You have to go. Take the car." "What about you guys?" "I need to find Scott. Go."
"Jackson's still inside. We lost him but..." "It's working." He says
"If I want your opinion I'll make an appointment with the Guidance office."
"From the state of things I think you could use a little guidance. Are you really going to leave all of this up to a couple of kids?" She asks. "They're more capable than you think."
