Since our daughter is at kindergarten, my love and I settled on having a date day since we're trying to make dates a norm in our life. I will be honest in admitting that we did start falling out of love with eachother last year when our schedules were completely and he confessed to having feelings for another woman.
It broke my heart to hear that my husband was falling for another woman but I appreciated his honesty and reluctancy to act on his newfound feelings. We did not go through marriage counselling but we did take a week away from our hectic lives to talk about our relationship and plan for our future.
That week together had us meeting up with a lawyer and drawing up a postnup with stipulated regulations that we both agreed to. We then met with our separate lawyers to discuss our assets which led to us writing a will in the occasion that one of us passes before our time. Friends thought we were crazy to go through while still married but I believe it strengthened our marriage and made us fight for what we had.
"I think we should take a trip to the UK soon to visit our home, my business and spend time with some of our friends there." I tell my husband as I take a bite of my french fry. "We have not been there in over six months and I don't like being away from my business overseas for a long period of time. Let's not forget that we have a whole house there that we allow some people to stay in from time to time."
Travis rubs the back of his head, "England is cold as hell but I'm ready when you are. Just need to know the dates because they're going to be sending out my schedule soon so I can start training for the new season."
"How does my skin look?" I ask as I catch a reflection of myself on my phone. "I feel like my mom fucking killed it with the new treatment that she did, it literally looks as if I'm wearing makeup."
"You always look good but I do see a healthier glow."
We finish up our food before playing another round of golf where Travis obviously beats me since he is a lover of the sport.
