I woke up to my mom sitting on my bed shaking me.
'honey.. your dad told me everything.' My mom said with a desperate frown and a sad tone to add on to it.
I felt guilty.
My mom then pulls out the razor I cut myself with yesterday.
My heart dropped further.
My eyes widen.
'Dakota.. sweetie.. what happened?..' She asked with concern.
I avoided eye contact with my mom and remained silent.
She puts her hand around my cheek.
'Sweetie.. you know you can tell me anything.. right?' she asked.
I nodded.
She stared at my deep bronze eyes with sadness.
'Do you want me to drive you to school?' she asked.
I didn't know what to say.
I was terrible at making decisions.
I didn't wanna see Linus.
But, I also didn't want to make it a struggle for my mom.
So, I shaked my head.
'okay.' she said desperately.
My mom got up from my bed.
'breakfast is at the table. So, make sure you eat. Okay?' She says with a reviving grin trying her best to make me smile.
I fake smiled back.
As I went down stairs to get breakfast.
As I sat down, it turns out randy wasn't there.
'Oh yeah, we forgot to tell you that randy left to go to school a little early.' My dad said.
There was no one nudging me for fun.
I was a lot sure that randy is probably having a good life.
I'm sure nothing bad is happening with randy.
As I got done eating avocado toast for breakfast, I walked down to the bus stop. And waited for the bus to arrive.
And then Linus comes by.
I tried my best to ignore him.
My head then starts to rush with a lot of thoughts.
My heart starts racing fast like I drank 3 energy drinks.
My heart sinks deeper into the void.
And then, another kid comes by.
I look at her.
She looks at me and then starts to get nervous.
She had beautiful short orange ginger hair that had been cut off, little dots that looked like raisins around her face, and had green olive eyes.
'hi! Are you new here? I never seen you before.' I asked curiously.
She giggles nervously.
'yea, I am.. The name's Natalie.' she said slowly to get used to meeting new people.
I smiled at her. And she smiles back.
'my name is Dakota. Or if you want you can call me charlie!' I said with a happy grin.
She chuckles.
'I think charlie is a cute name that fits you more!' she said with pure happiness in her voice.
I blush a little bit. But, gave her a smile.
I was happy to have a new friend.
I then turned to Linus.
His expression was pure blank.
I then looked at his hand Incase of any body language.
He seemed to turn his hand into a fist like he was gonna Punch someone.
I could tell that he was mad.
My expression turned from happy to guilty.
Natalie looks at me with concern.
'is everything okay, charlie?' she asks me with a bit of sadness in her voice.
I then quickly faked a smile and told her that everything was fine.
She smiles back.
As the bus arrives, me and Natalie sat in the back.
I blabber about the things that me and Linus were interested about but she wasn't interested to any of that at all.
She liked talking about her family, and some other stuff that are related to horror movies.
I didn't mind.
We told each other jokes until we arrived at school.
I showed her around the school.
Where to go, What to do, and more boring stuff that are important.
I took her to the library where I used to meet Linus at everyday in highschool.
I talked about what she wanted to talk about.
As the bell rung she followed me to class.
I thought it would be weird but she could have the same classes as I do.
As we both entered she sat right behind me in math class.
We were both blabbering our mouths off.
I loved listening to her. It was like she was my favorite friend.
She was teaching us algebra.
The thing I'm pretty decent at but not all of the time.
As the bell rung, we went to science and he taught us like plate boundaries.
Plate boundaries were boring.
15 minutes later, when he was done he allowed us to do our work on Google classroom.
'Hey, charlie? Do you know the Google classroom code?' Natalie asks.
I tell her that code as she types it out.
She hugs me tightly.
'thank you!' she says.
Mr. Robertson yells at me and Natalie.
And everyone stared. Including Linus.
Linus wasn't jealous. He was disgusted because he knew that I would turn the new kid into a bad person for some reason.
Natalie lets go of the hug.
'sorry everyone!' she apologies in a worried tone.
So, me and Natalie did our work.
And I seem to notice that held my hand.
Her hand felt warm.
I blush a sort of red blur on my face.
And we would hold hands until class was over.
I didn't know if it was in a friend way or in some type of gay way.
