Y/n had agreed to the sleepover and soon enough found themself huddled on the couch with Wally and watching some film. After the movie finished, the two bid each other good night and went to the separate bedrooms. Y/n collapsed on the cozy sheets of the guest room bed and immediately dozed off.
A few hours later in the middle of the night, Y/n heard a loud noise come from outside. They sprang awake and looked out the window to see it raining and thundering. With a bit of annoyance at being woken up, they flopped back against the soft pillows.
Before they could fall back asleep, they were disturbed once again by a small knock on the door. "Hey, Y/n?" the soft voice of Wally spoke from behind the door. Y/n sat up and tiredly glanced at Wally who cracked the door open slightly. "Can you sleep at all?" They we're about to say yes, but observed that Wally seemed to be slightly on edge.
Y/n internally sighed for being somewhat of a softy before speaking up. "Uh- no, not really. And I don't suppose you can?" Wally shook his head no, as Y/n took that as a sign to get up. "I must admit, I'm not a big fan or thunderstorms, lightning or rain... especially rain. This hair takes too long to do just for it to get all wet and frizzled up!!"
Y/n chuckled slightly as the two sat on the bar stools in the kitchen. "Apple juice?" Wally asked awkwardly. Y/n rolled their eyes playfully and shrugged, while he got up and retrieved two glasses of apple juice and sat back down.
"How long have you lived in the neighborhood for, Wally?" He stopped drinking with their eyes as his attention was brought to Y/n. "I'm not quite sure if I'm being honest, in fact, none of us really remember. All I know is one day, I was here. But that doesn't matter, because here is great! We have all we could ever need!"
Y/n began to stare down at their cup before looking back at Wally once more. "Where exactly is here, though-" Wally finished up his glass before standing up. "It's late Y/n, maybe we should try go back to sleep again, hmm?" Y/n was about to say more, when Wally closed the door behind him to his bedroom.
More questions began to form in the back of their head as they walked back into their room and sunk into the comfort of the bed. Why is he dodging my questions? What are they hiding... They would have been awake thinking about all of this, if it wasn't for the sound of the rain making them drowsy. Within a few minutes, they were fast asleep.
Wally carefully cracked the door open and checked to see Y/n fast asleep. He smiled, but it was quickly replaced with a sad expression, as they closed the door. Wally sighed, before going to the front door and slipping on a pair of shoes and grabbing a shovel. "Let's get this over with."
