Ukraine: Had a heart condition and died of heart failure, which explains her somewhat panicky and nervous nature.
Latvia: Victim of child abuse. Beaten to death which explains his timid nature.
Estonia: Inventor. Died in a lab accident which explains his love of technology.
Lithuania: Forced into servitude and commited suicide which explains his intense need to get away from Russia.
Poland: Transvestite during a time of ignorance. Killed in a hate crime or suicide which explains why he crossdresses.
Hungary: wanted to fight in an Hungarian war so she disguised herself as a man but is captured, found out by her captors, is forced into marriage and commited suicide which explains her tomboyish nature and why she used to dress like a boy.
Asia:
South Korea: fell in love with a japanese girl and was hated in his home because of it. He tried to run away with her but was killed by the girl's parents (they were also mad about her wanting to be with a Korean)which explains his strange love/hate for Japan and the hissy fit south korea had with him. >.>
Vietnam: Was a fisherwoman. Died when her boat sank and she drowned which explains the oar.
Hong Kong: Kidnapped by a British man at a young age. Commited suicide when he found out he was kidnapped by someone who treated him like a son which explains his relationship with Britain and China.
Mediterranean/southern europe:
Spain: Was a dancer or musician. Died of a disease that left him bed ridden which explains he immense energy.
Greece: Animal rights activist. Died when he was shot by a gaurd while trying to free some cats from an animal-testing lab which explains his love of cats.
Middle East:
Turkey: Theatre actor in his country. Died when a stage light fell on him during a play which explains why he always wears his mask.
Africa:
Seychelles: Alive during the slave trade, taken and sold to a British person. worked to death which explains her relationship with Britain.(not to mention that in the first demo of the hetalia gakuen game, Britain claimed her as his territory when he first met her and she was not happy about it.)
Egypt: Sculptor and artist. Died of an illness that made him lose his ability to talk which explains his calm, quiet nature and love of pottery.
