Chapter 4

You went to your desk and settled yourself on your chair. The chair where your dad use to sit. It felt like just yesterday you were a rookie at the station. Right now you got the position as a chief.

Ever since you got appointed as a chief, you got so many stares and glares. Most people didn't like the fact that you were the chief. They think you betrayed them and break one of the important rules for a police officer.

You got called as a traitor. Your thoughts got disturbed by someone.

"Chief.." someone said while entering your room.

You shift your gaze at him. "Yes?".

"I think you should see this...."
He said while putting a file on your table with a worried face.

"What's going on?".
You asked while looking at him.

He pointed at the file. "Take a look,chief".

"A mysterious murders have been going around the town. This mysterious killer have been getting attention from the citizens. As far as we know this killer only killed bad people such as the serial killer, Kang Doksoon who got out of the prison last week or the rapist, Sung Yeeseung who got out of the prison last month. Citizens have been calling him "the hero" eversince. This killer also have a unique modus operandi which is cutting from both cornors of the victims mouth all the way up to the cheek or called as the joker smile. That's why people have been starting to call this the "joker case".....We also-
He said while you was going through the file about this joker case.

You closed the file, not wanting to read to the file anymore. "Who the fuck is this hero?!", you said out of frustration.

"I'm calling everyone to an important meeting....right now!".
You shouted through the intercom.

You quickly got up and went to the meeting room. As frustration and rage running through your body, you walked into the meeting room, hoping everyone has a good news regarding the joker case. As soon as you stood infront of them, all eyes was on you, waiting to get their orders.

"What the hell is going on? Who is this hero? And why is this person doing the police job? I want answers!".
You slammed your hand on the table out of anger.

Officer Lee: Chief, we have zero clues about this person.

Kevin: Sangyeon hyung is right. The forensic team didn't find anything at the crime scene.

Officer Choi: I even checked all the cctv around the crime scene and got absolutely nothing. I think someone put a jammer on it.

Officer Ju:  It's definitely a perfect crime. All we know is that this person is going after bad people. Maybe we can start digging from there.

"I want everyone on the clock. Keep an eye on all the criminals that this person might go after. And make sure this information does not get into the media hands! We need to get this person!".
You said one last time and got out of the room.

Officer Ju: God.....she's much more scarier than her father.

Officer Choi: I respectfully agree with that.

Officer Lee: Well she's doing a great job.

You went to your room and started working. Going through the joker case again....and again, making sure you never miss anything regarding this case.

"Officer Ju is right....this is a perfect crime. There's no evidence at all. Whoever did this must be a professional". You thought.

You looked at the time. "Shit!". You quickly grab your things. You have to go home, Daeun's probably alone....or she's with Seojun. You walked as quickly as you could on hop into the car.
