Liana POV

I charged at the six fire fearlings. I did a cartwheel, dodging one. I shot another with one of my arrows. It vanished. I heard a yelp and saw Tooth getting burned in the back by a fire fearling, near her wings. Apparently Jack noticed too, because we attacked the fearling at once, destroying it together.

Suddenly, two separate arrows nailed two in their eyes and a petite girl with strawberry blonde hair leaped down. Her nametag read 'Cupid' in pink.

She kicked another. Three left. Our eyes met and we nodded. I smacked one fearling with my bow before using a knife to stab its heart. Cupid shot one in the stomach. The last one was our "good friend," Blaze.

"We've never been able to beat this one," I warned Cupid. She smiled and shrugged. "Good. I like a challenge," Cupid replied. We high-fived and began battling.

I did the splits to dodge a fire attack. Cupid bravely got on, grabbing the fiery mane and somehow not burning herself.

I sent a kick at Blaze's face, feeling guilty for harming an animal. Blaze whined and began thrashing wildly.

"Get off him!" I called out to Cupid. She nodded and did so, standing next to me and stepping back as a golden light surrounded Blaze.

A second later, Blaze was replaced with a pure white stallion with soft amber eyes. "Have him. Consider it a thank-you gift," I told Cupid.

Cupid smiled at me. "Thanks. Oh, you don't have to call me Cupid. My name's Amare," she said, hopping on and riding off as the battle ended.

I smiled and found Jack. "What happened to Blaze? I saw you and that girl fighting him," Jack asked me. "Turns out he had a true form that's a lot better than his former one. And I let the girl take him," I answered.

"I think I recognize her. Cupid, right?" Jack stated. "Yeah. But she told me her was Amare," I agreed, nodding.

"Well, bad news. North says Dawn's side is ready to go into a final-battle soon. But considering how many minions are on their side, I'm wondering if we'll be able to win or not," Jack informed me.

"Have seen how many minions I have? Don't worry, Jack. It'll be hard but I'm sure we can win," I reassured. He smiled and excused himself to go check on Jamie, the kid who had first believed in him.

I went deep into thought. As I thought about it, Amare looked familiar. But why?

Well, I'll find it out. I always do.
