My whole life I've been the athlete but today I'm the staff member. I love gymnastics, but I hate being an athlete. My mental health has never been the greatest but the pressure of being an athlete destroyed it. This choice is right for me and I know. Growing up I always wanted to work in sport but I never wanted to go pro however my father convinced me. My choice i was either live with him in the freezing cold and be a doctor or live near my mother and be a gymnast. I hate England mostly for it's weather but also the accents like I don't understand them, half of then don't sound English. Mine and Leah's alarm went of at 8 but neither of us budged I feel to safe and comfortable with her I wish this could be a job.
"Le" I whispered
"Uggh no" she groaned out whilst moving her body until she stopped when she realised her hand was inches away from in-between my thighs.
"Im sorry i didn't mean to" she quickly said whilst jumping out of the bed.
"Le calm down you've touched everything already." I laughed
"Yeah but we're taking it slow this time"
"I know lets go shower seperately so we aren't late" I said whilst emphasizing the separately so she's wouldn't have a heart attack. She's just to easy.
We showered and got changed into our kits."You don't suit blue you should be a red as well London is red after all"
"Aaww mi amor it's so cute you think i care about English clubs. The world is red and blue as Barcelona is the best. Therfore i do suit blue." I laughed
"Ouch but if you had to chose a club from Enlgand what would it be" she begged
"Nope not telling you you'll just never know"
"Please I'll do anything i beg" she pleaded
"Anything" I questioned
"Uuumm well not anything" she mumbled out
"Calm down Le I'm joking you on"
"Having me on?" She corrected
"Yes that's what i said."
We hugged goodbye and drove to our facilities. Leah's is only 10 minutes but mine is 20 minutes as it is on the other side of London. Once I pulled up I was met with a lovely lady who would take me to Emma. I knocked and entered her office.
"Oh Grace you're here thank god" she greeted me whilst skiing my hand
"Yes thank you for this opportunity" I said with my Spanish accent thick.
"I must say you have quite the background, you were an Olympic gold medalist why did you retire" she asked whilst flicking through my file."I loved it but i needed to uumm. im sorry if i dont pronounce this right, but i needed to prioritise my mental health over my physical. I had two choices when i was younger one was to be a doctor and the other a gymnast, but i want to continue to work in sports, not a hospital. " I said
"Wow that must have been a hard decision but it's good you made it mental health is very important as the body cant function without the mind. I'll show you to your new office and then you can meet the girls." She smiled at me whislt leading me to my office. She said goodbye and I placed my bad down whilst looking around. It is basic but it has everything I will need, a bench, a desk with a comfortable chair, tape and other treatment objects. I sorted my things out and left towards the gym where all the girls would be. Once I entered everyone stopped and came over to greet me. They all seem nice and I can't wait to work with them.
"Right ladies calm down. This is Grace our new physiotherapist but she will also assist me with training drills and tactics as she is an experienced athlete so be nice and if you need anything to be checked see her, her office has her name on the front of it." Emma spoke
"Yeah Sam it's spelt GRACE just so you know" Millie said which made everyone laugh
"Shut up mille" Sam laughed back
The rest of the day was quiet, before dinner the girls were in the gym and I helped them carry out their fitness tests so we can see who needs to improve on what. I'm in my office now cresting a training plan for the forwards as that is who I'm the physio well trainer for. I heard a knock at my door.
"Come in" I said, Guro came in whilst smiling at me.
"Hi i was just wondering if you could check my calf i landed funny and it hurts a bit" she asked shyly
"Yeah ofcourse lie down, which leg is it" i asked
"My left" she said
I applied pressure to different points in her leg and found her pressure point as she winced so I massaged it out.
"You just had a bit of cramp have some water and eat some food" I said whilst massaging her calf
"Thank you " she said whilst she hopped of my bench
"Of course, see you later" I said
I packed up all my things and walked to me car it was a good day and I enjoy it here the girls are lovely and I can't wait for our match against Arsenal in 3 days. Hold on Arsenal Leah oh god. I got to my house at 6 and made my self some food. My mother is spanish and takes pride in her meals she is a fantastic cook but I like English food a little bit better. I think it's because I hate spices and a lot of foods I'm very picky. However there is some spanish meals that top everything else but now I'm cooking spaghetti bolognese I know it's plain but I love it. I ate and showered, I put the TV on and lay down. I can feel my eyes getting heavier by the minute. Wait I haven't text Leah it's 11 now though I'll just leave it as she will probably be in bed or going to it. I let go and fell asleep.
"Grace" I can hear a voice saying whislt knocking on the door. I checked my phone and it said it's 2 in the morning who is knocking at my door at this time at night. I walked to my door and opened it. There stood Leah in her pyjamas.
"I can't fall asleep" she said quietlyAn: Short one sorry I'm on holiday I'll try and post again within the next few days. It might be frequent or not depending on if I have free time.
