The Lucky One

2002 November 13th

Betty and Taylor were sitting next to eachother on the bus laughing at eachother's silly jokes. "Give me your phone" Taylor opened her backpack and took out a Nokia 3100 and handed it to Betty "Why do you need it?" Tay asked her friend "I'm gonna give you my number so we can talk also what the hell you have the newest model?" Taylor laughed a little "yeah it was an early birthday gift" Betty smiled and nodded "that's cool" She finished writing down her number and gave Taylor back the phone. 

The girls were laughing the whole time, they were probably annoying everybody on the bus "Oh come on it's my stop I have to go" Betty said and stood up, when she said it Taylor looked out the window "Well it looks like you won't get rid of me that easily it's my stop too" Betty smiled "Well that's amazing cause I wasn't planning on it so come on Tay Tay let's get out of here"

The two friends started walking to their homes, but their paths never seemed to part, they were so lost in their conversation and didn't even notice it "Oh I guess we reached my house Bye I guess" Taylor said and was about to turn around and go home when she heard Betty laugh "what's so funny?" Taylor said feeling a little insecure thing that maybe her house is not good enough "Well that's my house" Betty said pointing to a house that's next to Taylor's. "We're neighbors?" Tay asked feeling a little unsure "Yeah we're Neighbors that's amazing!" Betty yelled out pulling Taylor in a big hug. They were hugging for a while I guess it's sometimes hard for both girls to admit they needed that hug for a while now. "I have to go now" Betty said hearing screams coming from her house. Taylor nodded and waved her goodbye as she was walking towards her house.

I can't believe I actually made a friend today I thought to myself as I was doing my homework. Nobody ever wants to be my friend because they think I'm weird for being two years ahead, well exept Auggie and Luca they have been my friends eversince we were 6 and they're the best friends you could ever ask for. Auggie is very protective and would kill somebody for you and that's not a joke, while Luca is more kind and reserved. He couldn't even hurt a fly and as much as I love them, they can become a lot so it's nice to finally have a friend like Taylor.

I feel like we'll be amazing friends. She's always smiling and laughing, but I noticed that she feels a little insecure which I understand, but I want her to know that she's amazing and there is no reason to feel insecure.

Trying to get any work in this house can be hard seeing as my parents always argue and that often becomes physicall, and if hitting eachother isn't enough they'll walk up to my room and hit me. I was trying to focus on my math work when I heard something shatter down stairs and loud footsteps coming up the stairs into my room I quickly locked the door and heard somebody most likely my dad loudly knocking on the door.

I was trying to open the window when I heard the screams and knocks become louder. When the window finally opened I climbed threw it and climped down on some pipes that were underneath.

I was looking around for what to do. I left my phone in my room so I couldn't call Augusta so I did the only thing that came to my mind I ran to Tay's house. Barefoot, in the rain, when it was freezing outside her parents will think I'm in danger or something

I knocked on their door once...no answer....twice......no answer.....three times still no answer. I was about to give up when the door opened "Oh my dear are you okay?" I'm guessing Taylor's mom asked me "Uhmm not really.. I'm Taylor's friend... From school is Tay home? I'm sorry if you're busy I didn't mean to disturb you" Her mom gave me a simpatetic smile and opened the door "yeah Taylor's upstairs first door on the right if you need anything just say it okay?" Her mom asked me and I nodded while looking around their house.

It was the same as mine from the outside and the floor plan was the same exept their house was cleaner and actually looked like it was nice to live in.

I went up the stairs and knocked on the door, Tay opened it in seconds the moment she saw me her smile dropped "are you okay? Come in I'll give clothes to change into" She said something else but I wasn't really intrested.

Her room was big it had a bunch of posters on the walls and a bunch of ripped out notebook paper with song lyricks on it. I walked up to her desk and saw that she was writing something "What's this?" I asked her, Tay turned around and grabbed the paper out of my hand "Oh it's just a song I've been working on it's not even that good" I tried to take the paper out of her hand, but she raised her hand so I couldn't reach it "Oh come on Taylor show me it" I started to beg her and she laughed at my absurd attempts. I started looking around to try and find something that I could use to manipulate her into giving me the song and that's when I spotted a guitar.

I took it and grabbed some other song and started playing. Tay immediately turned around when she heard me  "You know how to play the guitar?" I nod and start singing her song called "picture to burn". She smiles as I sing the song.
