Abhimanyu went to the wide glass window from where he could see every inch of the club and smirked, looking down at Akshara walking down the stairs.

She would be back.

He just knew it.

Akshara felt a pair of eyes piercing into her back, tracking her every move. She looked behind her to see Abhimanyu looking down at her from the glass window in his office, smirking like the bastard he was.

She scrunched her nose up and glared at him, trying not to let him overwhelm her as his smirk changed into a full-fledged piercing grin. He pointed two fingers to his forehead and saluted at her, casually, making Akshara's blood boil as it pumped through her veins.

Akshara stomped out of the nightclub –questioning her own sanity –and the reason for why she kept getting drawn to Abhimanyu 'Deathstroke' Birla.

The next morning, Akshara was all dressed, wearing beige coloured pants, a white shirt and a pink coloured blazer, ready to head off to the first day of work as a Junior Sports Medicine Doctor.

She had a belly full of breakfast which consisted of a cup of coffee and some vanilla yogurt with berries and oats mixed in.

Just then her doorbell rang. Frowning, she grabbed her bag, cellphone and car keys before heading off to see who was knocking at her door so early in the morning.

It wasn't even 8:30am yet.

She opened the door to see Aditya standing there with a bar of chocolate along with a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

"Adi? What is all this?" Akshara asked, surprised.

"Today is your first day of work. So I thought, being a good friend, I should surprise you. And wish you luck." He handed over the bouquet of flowers to Akshara.

"Thanks. And the chocolate?"

"I've heard it's always auspicious to eat something sweet before you head off to do something new, for good luck, obviously."

"Obviously," Akshara giggled.

"So I brought you chocolate. Because I know how much you love chocolate."

Touched by Aditya's small gestures, Akshara embraced Aditya in a friendly hug. Having been orphaned and abandoned at a young age, Aditya was her closest confidante and her best friend. They had grown up together, stuck to each other like glue.

"How you doing?" Akshara asked, pulling back from the hug, looking at his injuries.

"I'm doing good. Never better."

"Good." She nodded her head.

"By the way, where were you yesterday? I came by yesterday night to wish you good luck for your first day of work but you didn't answer your door." Aditya questioned.

Akshara suddenly felt nervous. What should she tell Aditya? Where had she been yesterday? Certainly couldn't tell him that she was getting hot and bothered by his rival at said rival's nightclub all because she couldn't sleep at night.

"I couldn't sleep. So I just went out for a drive to clear my head." She replied.

"Nervousness got to you eh?"

"Yes." She lied.

"I understand. That's how I felt before my first match too. You should have called me."

"I wanted you to rest. Getting beaten up must not have been easy." She joked. Truth be told, she hadn't been thinking about Aditya at all. She had only been thinking about one man.
