Reich sat down at his desk, it was just after dinner and he had gotten back to work. he looked upon the long list of names before him. Usually, countries would have been given a computer to type it all out on, however, Reich didn't know how to use a computer so he opted to write it all out, which would take much longer than doing it on a PC. And he was damaging his wrist and hands with writing all day. But, it wouldn't be the first time he hurt himself like this. For a moment, Reich looked down at his arm for a moment, his sleeve was curled up and the old injection marks had, by now, turned to a pinkish-white. If you hadn't known before, the Nazis used meth in the war. Reich had gained an addiction to the drug at the time. He was recovering now, it wasn't easy, far from it. He rubbed his arm and sighed.
From a little bit away, Ame was watching him from the door, which was slightly ajar. He sighed sadly. He leaned in for a better look at Reich and his shirt got caught on the handle, he ended up falling over and Reich jumped, pulled out a pistol, and held it at Ame.
America slowly got up and froze, his hands in the air. Reich realized that it was Ame and put the weapon back on his desk. He gave him an annoyed look.
"What do you want, America?" He asked, annoyed and grumpy.
"I.. just wanted to check on you." He replied, fixing his sunglasses.
Reich raised an eyebrow at this, he was probably lying, but Reich didn't want to talk further. He sat back down and quickly got back to work. America looked around his room, it was very clean, with no clothing on the floor, and the bed was made so well it looked like it had never been slept in. America walked by Reich, glancing down at the list.
So many names on one page... makes you wonder how many pages he's already completed. Reich looked up at America, annoyed. America looked away, pretending to not notice his glare.
"So... uh... lotta names..." America awkwardly commented, messing with his sleeves.
"Ja. Why are you surprised?" Reich said, not looking up from his desk to look at the eagle.
"No reason... look are you sure you don't wan-" America was cut off suddenly by Reich's hand covering his face, Reich was ever so slightly annoyed by the American by now.
"I. Need. To. Finish. This." He growled, the pen in his other hand looked like it could snap in two at any moment.
America nodded and Reich took his hand off of his mouth, going back to work and leaving America to stand there.
Seemingly having no other choice, America walked out of his room and shut the door behind him. Going to his own room to sulk.
Luckily, Scotland saw America heading to his room, all sad-like, worried for his nephew, he followed and lightly tapped his shoulder. America looked at him with some surprise but stopped walking to face Scotty.
"Ey mate, what's wrong?" Asked Scotland, with a small cup of whiskey in his hand.
"Reich..." America replied, sighing.
Scotland looked towards Reich's room with a glare then back at America with a soft smile.
"You wanna talk about it-?" Scotland offered him the cup of whiskey and America nodded, taking the cup and downing it in one gulp. Scotland let out a hearty laugh and led America into his room.
Scotty sat Ame down in his bed before sitting on a chair that was closest to it.
"Now," Scotland put down a large bottle of whiskey and other alcoholic beverages. "tell me what happened."
America looked at all of the alcohol curiously, did he really need all of this? But he looked back up at Scotty.
"Well... he's been acting colder towards me lately... and just being an asshole overall..." Sighed America.
Scotland hummed and wrote that down on a random piece of paper he had found. "Carry on, lad."
"And, I get that he's an asshole, but was he ever like this with Imperial Japan? This grumpy?" America knew that Reich and Imperial Japan were married, and together they had Germany and Japan. They were separated only went Reich perished in that bunker and when Imperial Japan died of radiation poisoning from... those nukes. America didn't regret it at all though, bitch deserved it.
"By all accounts-" Scotland somehow held up the files on Reich in his hand and slid it over to America. "Nope."
America picked it up and skimmed the pages, none of them ever mentioned anything about his grumpiness towards his wife or any incidents. However, the file did mention his early life, it said that he was born to the German and Russian royal family, with his parents being Reichtangle and the Russian Empire.
And... he had... a sibling...?
Oh...
Soviet.
Him.
America had never known that he and Reich were... related. He closed the file and gave it back to Scotland.
"You look distressed now, lad. You alright?" Scotland asked, worried.
"I didn't know he and Soviet were related!" America hissed, his wings floofing up in anger.
"I'm surprised you didn't," Scotland held up a bottle of wine for the eagle. "I thought everybody knew."
America took the bottle and began to chug, the sweet taste of liquid love was intoxicating. He put the bottle back down and shook his head.
"I didn't know. And I have no idea why no one told me." He growled.
"People seem to keep things from you more often, eh? Ireland and I have been through that, you ain't alone." Scotland reassured him.
"Thanks, Scotty..."
"No problem, Aimeireaga" Scotland smiled.
America happily sighed and took a swig of the alcohol.
"I should... probably stop drinking this stuff..."
Scotland hummed, "Probably, lad. I don't want you getting sick on me now." He yawned and collected his stuff.
"Thanks for talking with me, Scotty." Thanked America.
Scotland simply looked at him and smirked. "Anything for family, lad."
Soon after Scotland left, there was a knock at America's door, curious as to who could be knocking America opened the door and found Reich at the other end of it. He awkwardly waved at America and Ame waved back.
"So... uhm... I re-read the rules I'm meant to go by in the program..." Quietly said Reich, walking into America's room.
"Yes?" Pushed America, wanting Reich to go forward with what he was going on about.
"I can go out and walk around but it has to be secretive, obviously." Finished Reich.
"Oh, that's great! So we can go out!" America exclaimed.
"You're making this sound like a date and I don't know how to feel about that." Said Reich, slightly annoyed.
"Sorry. But still! This is good! I know a few good places you may like!" America's eyes sparkled, so many things they can do!
"I'm... looking forward to it." Reich plainly stated, rubbing his arm.
America, taking slight notice of this action looked at his arm curiously.
"Is your arm okay?" He asked.
Reich paused and quickly nodded.
"Ja, it's fine it's just a habit..." He lied, did America know about his past addiction?
"Oh... okay! Just... let me know when you wanna go out, okay?" Ame offered.
"I will, I'll keep that in mind."
