~~𐀔~~ 𐀔~~ 𐀔~~The breeze was blowing harshly against the wooden poles, four people, all standing on one foot, were meditating atop them. Eyes closed with a relaxed posture the ninja appeared to be unsuspecting of any attack. A boulder falls towards them from the mountain above, one of the ninja, the one in the purple gi doesn't crack open an eye as she leaps up and kicks a leg up, forcing the boulder back towards the mountain, landing back on the pole.
Multiple boulders fall down, all heading at fast speeds towards the ninja, the sound of mechanics starts in a quiet hum, making its sudden start known. The ninja in the orange gi doesn't move from her spot on the pole, simply spreading her fingers wide, arms close to her chest, bent at the elbows, as the shadows from the roofless building around them pull away from the ground racing towards her. They swarm around her hands, the parts unable to attach to her skin swarming in a ball around the space between her hands, she then extends her hands in an outward direction, the shadows following her movement, detaching and heading at fast speeds towards the closest boulder once her arms are fully extended.
They wrap completely around the boulder, squeezing it and crushing it into tiny pieces that fall around them, harmless. To her right, both the ninjas in the purple and pink gi, move in sync, the purple manipulating the wind as she, once again, kicks upwards due to the boulder being bigger than the last it doesn't move as high as the previous, vines from trees near the edge of the mountain wrap around it and flick upwards, throwing it the rest of the way up.
Meanwhile, the ninja in the yellow gi turns her body around to face the machines, her magenta hands rise above her hands, keeping her arms extended she moves them down at her sides, the sun seems to shine brighter around her, a whip made of pure light appears in her hand. She flicks it outward, it slides through two of the bots without struggle. Turning towards the remaining two, her whip turns into two small blades, which she throws at them, hitting them both in the chest, the blades shine bright as they suddenly explode, making the robots do the same.
With all threats dealt with, the three women, aside from the one in yellow who opened her eyes previously, finally open their eyes, squinting slightly as the bright sun shines in their eyes as they all set they're other foot down. "Well done, that is enough for today," The voice comes from Evelyn, they're mentor and mother figure who walked in front of them. "Soon, with more practice, you will be working in perfect harmony."
"We weren't in sync already? That looked pretty perfect to me," Willow, in her orange gi, couldn't help but huff, "I trust you with my life Sensei, but all this training and preparing for a threat that hasn't been seen in hundreds of years, they may not even be alive anymore."
"Enough. They are coming," Her mouth turned downward slightly, "and you will be prepared when they do." Willow looked down at her feet, shifting her weight between both legs, "Sorry Sensei, I know this is important but you have to understand our frustration."
Aalaya, the ninja in the yellow gi speaks up, "It is true Sensei, you have been training us for a great evil, but have not allowed us to fight in a real battle yet. How are we supposed to be able to defeat it if we have only defeated machinery and the few pillagers that try to raid the village, they are hardly true victories."
"Yeah, you rarely let us leave Magior, sometimes it would be nice to be able to see new faces, ones that I can pass without knowing their life story." Violet, in the pink gi, admits.
The purple ninja, Belle adds in her opinion, "it would be nice to walk into a shop and be ignored by everybody," she sighs dreamily, "that's the dream."
Evelyn shakes her head slightly, she does understand they're frustration but she cannot let them leave without them being at their best, even if it is to go walk around a city. There is always the chance that General Valdemar will strike them while they are not focused, and she can't lose her ninja, not when she knows that they will be apart of the group that will save the world, even if they are unaware that they will have help, knowing that now would only be a distraction.
~~𐀔~~ 𐀔~~ 𐀔~~
The sound of brooms brushing across the stone floor, and clangs of metal hitting metal as Belle fixes the mechanics in one of the robots, one of the few that survived from irreversible damage fill the silence of the yard. "Do you think she'll let us walk around town alone before we're 30?" She questioned, setting the wrench down and closing the back door of the robot.
"Although I am technically 97 in my home planet's years, I do share your frustration. I admit I am confused myself," Aalaya admits leaning the broom in her hand on the stone beside her. She couldn't help but question what Sensei was keeping from them, and why she was trying so hard to make sure they wouldn't find out. All that she would say was that they needed to train for a Great Evil that would attempt to conquer the world, and that they were Earth's defense against it. She would also say things that would make her question whether or not they were actually the only ones that will be able to stop it. Evelyn has spoken to other leaders of the village many times about one thing in particular, a group called 'The Masters of Spinjitzu'.
"I don't get it. I mean we train everyday, sometimes all day and she acts like we never improve," Willow shared, "I definitely could not manipulate my shadows any better than I could throw my knives." She creates a small knife with her shadows to further prove her point . She herself could not understand why they weren't allowed outside of the Magic Village, were they not trusted enough? She thought that if Sensei could trust them to defend the village, then they could be trusted enough to go a couple miles out of the mountains, to travel Ninjago City, even just for a few hours.
"I'm sure she'll let us go eventually." Violet states. 'Hopefully' she thinks, she trusted Sensei with all of her being but she couldn't help but be hurt, thinking that her mother figure did not trust her, or her sisters, to be away from her 'sight' for longer than a couple hours, and that was inside the walls of their home.
Even with being able to see into the future, Evelyn was paranoid, with the power of being able to see into the future she was constantly worried about missing something and being the one that dooms the world. The piece of fabric that is kept over her eyes, is to stop wind from blowing in the scar, she claims it is a distraction. She has never worried about the judgment of others, she is a warrior, and her scars tell her story of sacrifice.
Authors note:
First chapter done! I apologize for it being so slow, it will pick up in the next chapter I promise. This chapter was just to explain the ninja and Sensei (Evelyn) and slightly talk about who they are. Next chapter I hope to show the relationships between the ninja and their relationship as sisters. I do not plan to have the other ninja join the story right away, maybe around chapter 5, as the first couple chapters are going to be focused on the ninja getting more freedom. Also, with Aayala it says that she would be 97 if she was on her home planet, it is another look into her story. I'm thinking of making stories dedicated towards each ninja and their history before Evelyn found them. I plan to make Evelyn a very worried and paranoid person, because I think if I could see into the future, I would also be constantly worried about missing something important, and she has no eyes so that adds to her worry. I also apologize for such long author notes I just enjoy rambling. Anyways, I hope you're enjoying the story so far!
