NEXT DAY.
CAVI WAS awakened by the creaking of the door and rubbed his eyes as he got up from the bed. He saw Matt standing there, looking exhausted. Cavi's heart filled with joy at the sight of his partner, but it quickly dissipated as Matt rushed past him to grab his laptop.
"Are you leaving again? you just got here,"
"I just came for my laptop," Matt replied, and Cavi couldn't help but feel a little frustrated.
Cavi turned away, staring out the window as he tried to hide his frustration. But something outside caught his attention. He noticed a girl waiting outside their apartment building, and he couldn't help but wonder who she was and why she was there.
Matt walked over and placed a hand on the back of Cavi's head, giving it a gentle rub. "Sorry about that, love,"
Cavi forced a smile, but his mind was still preoccupied with the girl outside. "You already got your laptop, why are you still here?" he asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
"Nagtatampo oh." Matt teased, trying to lighten the mood.
"Umalis ka na." Cavi said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
Matt hugged Cavi tightly, and Cavi couldn't help but feel a surge of warmth spread through him. "I miss you, my love," Matt whispered.
"I miss you too. Do you really have to go?" Cavi asked, hoping against hope that Matt would stay.
Matt released the embrace and let out a sigh before nodding. "But I'll make it quick so I can get back to you." he said before pulling Cavi in for another hug.
Cavi smiled, feeling a sense of comfort in Matt's embrace. But the sight of the girl outside still nagged at him. "Love, do you know who she is? She's been out there since you got here."
"Fuck, I forgot," Matt said, his expression turning serious. He noticed the suspicion in Cavi's eyes and quickly explained, "She's my partner on the project I've been working on, Denice. She gave me a ride here to get my laptop."
Cavi felt a twinge of jealousy, but he tried not to let it show. "You never mentioned her to me before," he pointed out.
Matt looked apologetic. "Sorry about that. I must have forgotten."
Cavi felt a little hurt but didn't want to dwell on it. "It's fine," he said, trying to brush it off.
Matt noticed that Cavi was still a bit bothered, so he walked over and wrapped his arms around him. "Don't worry about it. You know I only have eyes for you," he said, planting a soft kiss on Cavi's cheek.
Cavi leaned into the embrace, feeling comforted by Matt's warmth. "I know. I just miss you when you're gone," he said, feeling a little vulnerable.
Matt gave Cavi a reassuring smile. "I miss you too, Cav. But I promise I'll be back soon," he said, giving him a quick peck on the lips before heading out the door.
Cavi watched him go, feeling a mixture of emotions. He knew he could trust Matt, but he couldn't help feeling a little jealous. He shook off the feeling and reminded himself that Matt loved him and would always come back to him.
