PRE-TWILIGHT
early 1949Quiet chatter filled the space of the small diner in the middle of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In the far left corner sat a man and woman in a booth, they weren't together considering the significant amount of space between them, but were clearly very close friends. Placed in front of both on the table were two small mugs of coffee that had once given off steam but had since gone cold and tasteless. From a distance, the woman looked oblivious to the world around her with her flowy purple dress, sunglasses and dazzling smile.
The man next to her was stiff in his seat and looking much more aware, his eyes shifting from person to person every few seconds. He wore a white button up shirt with a black coat over it, along with a pair of brown pants and leather shoes. They looked like a normal pair of friends; talking and drinking in a small little cafe whilst on their travels. One wouldn't expect that the petite figure and her male companion were infact creatures of the night.
Of course, Alice wasn't really a monster, during her 18 years of her immortal life she had never racked up a body count. This feat was all thanks to her gift; she had seen a clan of golden-eyed vampires and knew that one day she and her friend would join them. Alice realised that she couldn't technically miss what she never had to begin with, and decided that their choice of survival was the more humane option of the two, you could say, and was definitely better for her and her friend to start now before meeting the small group.
Her friend; Jasper, found it harder than Alice to convert from his past human diet to one only consisting of animals. With his past going decades futher back than Alice's she couldn't really blame him for the struggle, though he never once slipped up and gave in to his cravings. That vision was one of the most helpful ones she had received since waking up from her transformation, and waking up with no memories.
When Alice awoke from her transformation she was alone, knowing nothing about herself other than her name; Mary Alice Brandon. Though she definitely preferred being called Alice. After coming to terms with her new life and lack of memory, Alice received one of her first and most exciting visions yet.
A black 1940 Buick Sedan drove quickly down the road, easily surpassing the speed limit with no intent on stopping. The driver was a women, with dark brown and curly locks that fell over her shoulders. Her gaze was trained on the road as she drove, sunglasses covering her eyes and her hair blowing off her shoulder and through the open window. The woman's jawline was defined, but still held her feminine softness to it, her smile was relaxed and peaceful even whilst driving at such a dangerous speed. Her arms showed off her slight athletic build, muscles showing through the sleeves of her shirt just waiting to be used.
The car turned to travel down another road, this time it was bare of trees on either side and stones flew up from the ground from the cars speed. Though she slowed down as she approached a sign.
