Knuckles the Echidna is the last of his kind and protector of the Master Emerald, the ultimate power of all 7 chaos emeralds encased in a single emerald. He likes animals. Knuckles spends all his time looking after the emerald barley sleeping or eating. He lives on Angel Island and would to anything to insure the emeralds' safety. "Here I am, guarding the emerald." the red fella states, looking at the land below the floating island, "I wonder what the others are doing?" The island is a paradise, with lush green grass, beautiful flowers, and even trees. Knuckles' home is right at the edge of the island and is a good distance away from Angel Island. Knuckles is the protector of all the Chaos Emeralds, so he is not allowed to enter the island without permission.
