Lost in Thought

Shadow the Hedgehog stands on a mountainside, arms crossed, contemplating if the rest of his life will be running away from Dr. Eggman.

"The sunset is truly beautiful, isn't it?" Shadow smiles, but only for a second as he hears the droning of robots behind him, he needs to get back into cover. He runs back into the forest until the robot drones come closer and closer and finally, they stop right behind him. He hides behind a tree and slowly peers at them, "What are these things?" He asks out loud. "They must be a new prototype, the doctor really has his hands full." Unknown to Shadow, these drones have hearing capabilities. The bots are equipped with a long-range laser aimed directly at Shadow's back."Now what?" Shadow mumbles. A sudden noise causes him to freeze. It sounded like it came from a distance. Shadow holds his breath, trying to listen to what is happening. He waits patiently for whatever noise is coming closer. Finally, Shadow decides to see what is going on. The sound is growing louder, it sounds almost like a growl. Suddenly, the robots all turn their lasers toward the direction of the sound. Shadow himself tries to see what it is, he sees a strange glow from the shadows, then he sees some claws, eyes, and a crystal of some sort, it is the Creature. He's seen this thing before, a weapon of mass destruction, capable of chaos across countless cities. Eggman wants some of Shadow's DNA to perfect the Creature as the true Ultimate Life Form.

"I got to get out of here." Shadow states starting to hide himself in bushes, but it is too late. The Creature was already in hot pursuit.

The Creature slams Shadow into the ground dragging him through the dirt. Shadow grabs the Creature's arm that was holding onto Shadow. Before the Creature has any time to react Shadow punches it in the face, causing the Creature to let go of Shadow. Shadow wastes no time as he gets up and begins to run away, not noticing that the Creature is already getting back up.

"Damn, I got the drop on that guy." Shadow mutters under his breath. He speeds past trees and leaves, hoping to lose the Creature, however, the Creature has the advantage of strength over Shadow. As he runs through the forest, Shadow keeps hearing footsteps getting closer. Eventually, the Creature catches up to Shadow, who stops in his tracks. Shadow is ready to defend himself from the Creature, but instead of attacking him, the Creature jumps and kicks him into the sky. The Creature jumps up, grabs Shadow by the neck, and throws him at the nearby city, Station Square. Shadow crashes into buildings and lands in the middle of a plaza. The nearby people gasp and start to call the police when the Creature calmly floats down onto the ground and prepares a lightning blast.

Shadow groans in pain, but manages to get up again,

"Your stronger than it seems," he states, the Creature still emotionless, "why don't you speak?"

The Creature still doesn't respond and charges at Shadow. Shadow's eyes widen but before he knows it the Creature slams Shadow into a coffee shop.  The coffee shop explodes into a shower of glass and brick dust. The Creature continues slamming into Shadow. He feels like he's been hit by a truck. His body hits a couple more tables until there is none left. After a few moments of recovery Shadow looks at his surroundings, there are broken tables everywhere. The Creature is gone.

"Coward." Shadow mumbles, unable to speak up with the amount of pain he's experiencing. Something doesn't feel right, why would the Creature just bail, it doesn't make sense, the Creature hadn't been scratched. Suddenly the Creature is right behind Shadow when he's kicked outside of the coffee shop and into another building.

"I knew it."

The Creature approaches Shadow, Shadow knows that he's going to die, but has to accept it. He closes his eyes.

Suddenly, a blue ball hits the Creature into a building, it's Sonic, he looks at Shadow,

"Quite the performance there, Shadow." He banters, Shadow's just glad to be alive.
