Dear Diary,

So not only is my sister a vampire now, she's some weird witch / vampire mixture.. This is just too much for one girl to handle. On top of this, some crazy connected vision, as my father calls it, was experienced. I'm not sure I like all of this creepy stuff.

Maybe my mom was right to end all of this. Oh wait, we aren't even sure she's dead anymore. My dad saw her in his vision, I saw her in Artie's thoughts. I'm not sure what to believe anymore.

Love always, Jess.

------------------------

Jess felt as if everything she had known about the world has been a lie. Her family were witches, generations of them also. Her sister's boyfriend was a vampire, who turned Rose on accident. Jess' friend had confessed his love to Jess, and said that he was cursed to be with her, a thing they called mating? It was something crazy and if Jess could barely handle her mother's suicide, how was she supposed to handle all of this.

Then the thought came back into Jess' head, what if her mother wasn't really dead? All of those visions about her being with Pat and Artie sort of threw everyone off balance. On top of that, school was happening again. Artie had explained to Jess that the Mountain Lion attacks were actually just newborn werewolves attacking on accident, but they had all found packs. It was something way too difficult for Jess to comprehend, as she was finally realizing how powerful she was with magic.

Jess couldn't touch Artie, everytime they touched they could read each other's thoughts and feel the other person's emotions. It was very strange, and Artie said the Alpha in his pack didn't even know what caused it.

She looked through her diary, seeing where she wrote the first day of school. Her attitude towards life had drastically flipped flopped. It was indeed a lot to handle for one 17 year old girl.

The sad thing about going to school was that people would realize how different Rose was, she was beautiful now, and Jess wasn't sure she could handle all of that flowing blood walking around her. Even though Rose figured out how to brain wash people with some weird vampire mind trick and Pat had said he didn't know how she was so powerful already. No one knew she still had witch abilities although she was a vampire, because this was uncalled for.

Jess had researched that recently, using witch history books that her father finally showed the girls now that they had experienced their first power outburst. It said nothing about how that could happen, so Rose was very dangerous. No one was able to know about her. No one.

------------------------

"Jess Hans, may I speak with you up front?" Mrs. Karry was at her computer, her glasses on the edge of her nose, looking as if they were about to fall off of her fat face.

"Yes, Mrs. Karry?" The teacher looked up at Jess as if she had seen a ghost, and that was when she pulled her out into the hallway.

"I saw... I saw your mother yesterday.." Jess felt her throat clench up, as if her body shut down almost. "You must be seeing things Mrs. Karry, she's dead. Maybe you need some sleep." She put her hand on Mrs. Karry's shoulder, and the teacher shook her head. "You're right. I'll have them find a sub." That was when stuff got weird at school.
