I literally just deleted this whole chapter right after writing it by mistake and now I want to crawl into a hole and die. But yeah, this chapter was only about a whopping 1300+ words so no big deal(╥﹏╥)

************It's been about two years since me and Li joined the group we now call the 'Misfits'.
We've gotten pretty close actually. We were like a family. A HUGE, smelly, mentally fucked family. We usually paired in groups of two. They would split up to get the specific resources assigned to them. Me on the other end, I was on watch duty. As a demon, my hearing and sense of smell is 3 Times better than the average person. Perfect for keeping watch. Plus I knew how my parents think. Giving me an advantage.
Whenever I heard or smelled one of those Quirk Hunters nearby I would create a pillar of purple flames to signal them to head back to our base of operations.( An hidden alleyway). Sure this job isn't the safest, especially since signalling them will expose my position. And I AM the most wanted person there. Even with all these downsides, it was worth it. Or so I thought.
Aaagh it's getting harder to remember what I wrote ( ⚈̥̥̥̥̥́⌢⚈̥̥̥̥̥̀)
Plz share this and my
previous book to make it worth it. FUCKING TORTURE AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! (I hate myself for this)
One day during my patrol I smelled the presence of one of those Hunters. So naturally I signalled the group to return to home base. I dubble checked to make sure I wasn't being followed and started sneaking back. Little did I know what a big mistake that was.
Third person
As Kiara snuck back home, a mysterious dark figure watched her every move from afar. Letting the rest of his crew know the whereabouts of these goldmines.
I can barely remember what I wrote next. I apologize if it doesn't turn out that well. 😥
Kiara POV
I came home to everyone sharing the goods they brought back. "Anything we're missing?" I asked Li. "Not much, only firewood to cook the food." "No problem, I can get that later. Are we all here?" "Yes, everyone's here and accounted for." "Perfect. Something feels off though." "What do you mean?" "It's just I've got a gut feeling that something bad is bound to happen."
How very right I was. Just moments later I could hear footsteps of those Hunters approaching our home. But for some reason, I couldn't smell them. What's going on?
"Everyone, watch your backs. Something's up. Be prepared for anything." With that everyone was on edge. Looking for what the danger could be. The footsteps just came closer. And I still couldn't smell them. It wasn't long until they turned the corner to reveal themselves.
The guy who lead the group was a large one. He seemed to create a gun out of thin air into his hand. Must be his quirk. He pulled out bullets from his pocket. Imma call this guy Mr. FuckedUpPieceOfShit. His name will make sense later. I assure you.
He pointed the gun towards us. The heroes and assassins who joined him prepared themselves for the battle to come. My team flinched and pulled out any weapons they could find or prepared their quirks for tension filled the air.
I lifted my hand as if to say, "Stand down, we only wish to speak." Mr. FuckedUpPieceOfShit signalled his men to stand down. My team soon followed. "What are you doing? Why aren't you fighting back? What are you planning?" He stared at me coldly. "We don't want violence. We only want you to hear us out. There has been a huge misunderstanding." He chuckled softly. "What misunderstanding? You people have been wanted for years now. The only thing that's misunderstood is the fact that this ain't some tea party, this is where you take your final breaths." "Woah, calm down tiger." I teased. "No need to get hostile. You see, we share a common enemy here. None of us has actually commited any crimes. We're all innocent."
He laughed. This guy is so fucking annoying. "It's true. You see, my parents along with the chief of police has been framing people like us for untrue crimes in order to turn the public against us. 'Why' Do you ask? It's because they fear us and want to take us off the map." I held my hand out. "Let's join forces to expose the truth. Help us prove our innocence. I know that house like the back of my palm. The only problem is the heavy security." I smiled brightly as I finished my speech."Please help us prove that we are just as good as the average civilians. Help us prove what they do is wrong." He looked at my hand and then my big pleading violet eyes. A cold grin formed at the tips of his mouth.
I felt the danger. I tried to say something more calming. "I know you don't trust me, and I don't blame you. But just think about it, when was the last time you've seen a civilian with a monstrous quirk in this country. Never, right? Why do you think that is?" He smiled widely, as if he were waiting for this question. "Maybe because you can't be trusted."
A gunshot was heard and our eldest member fell to his knees with his hand on his chest. A pool of blood forming on the floor. I lifted both my hands forming a shield protecting the rest of my team. "FALL BACK!" Was all I could yell as all my attention was on keeping this shield up, though my energy level was really low. 'Shit' was all I could think. 'I don't think this will last for long, my energy is low, let's just hope they can get awa...'
My thoughts where cut off by a hero using her quirk to shatter my shield tossing me to the ground. I looked up to see Mr. FuckedUpPieceOfShit lunging himself towards me. I used shadow-Arm to launch me backwards just missing his sword attack. I stared at his cold face. It was clear he knew that we were innocent, but he just wanted the money that was to offer. See how I got his name?
He lunged at me slicing at my eye. I barely dodged that attack.
Blood dripped off my face as he
Lunged at me for round two but this time I was ready for him. I dodged and thrust a shadow spear forward, penetrating him.
He fell to his knees drenched in his own blood.I turned to see about half of my team laying lifeless on the ground. I joined Li's side to defend her from the other's attacks.
It wasn't long until the odds turned to our favour. I felt a grin escape from the tips of my lips. I felt satisfaction from this soon to be victory. Talk about celebrating WAY too soon.
Eventually it was over. There was sadly only 3 of us left. Me, Li and Mr. Hairy.(before you ask he wanted to keep his name secret so we started calling him that.)
We heard a gunshot. Mr. Hairy dropped to the ground clutching his chest. Crimson red blood staining the floor below him. I turned to see Mr. FuckedUpPieceOfShit bent down, hand on his stomach. Eyes filled with murderous rage. His gun in his left hand. He turned his attention to Li. Before I could react, he shot her. Right in her third eye, there was now way she was able to use her quirk to heal herself now.
At that moment, I died too. The girl you 'knew' who tried her best not to become the villain they thought she was. She was gone. And the demon of the Western Cape was born.
Mr. FuckedUpPieceOfShit lifted his gun and shot me in my chest.
Thankfully that has happened enough times for it to do minimum damage.I walked toward him slowly. He tried to shoot again but ran out of ammunition. I sent two more shadow spears into his sides.
Causing him to scream out in pain. And to top it all off, I set him on fire.I left with a grin of satisfaction and a heart filled with despair.
This was where I distanced myself in order not to cause others pain ever again.
