-Lord sent Abram away from Harran, to Canaan, at age 75
-Sent his nephew, Lot and his wife Sarai
-Lord told Abram his offspring would get the land
-Abram received unknown inheritance
-Got to great trees of Mamre at Hebron and built an alter
-Lot went to Sodom and made bad decisions
-City was looted and Lot and his family were held captive
-Abram got 318 men to rescue Lot
-Eliezer of Damascus would inherit the estate
-The Lord told Abram he would have a child to inherit the estate
-Lord told Abram he was his shield
-Hagar, Sarais slave, would be the surrogate
-Hagar and Sarai would fight and send off Hagar into the woods
-Angel of God told her to go back to Sarai
-Angel of God said to name the son Ishmael who will live in hostility
-Abram was 86 when Hagar bore Ishmael
-Abram saw god when he was 99 and was called faithful and blameless
-God changed name from Abram to Abraham
-God will make nations with kings that will come to Abraham with an everlasting covenant that will continue through the descendants
-Gave Canaan to Abraham and descendants
-Abraham and descendants must keep the covenant
-Every man shall be circumcised in the flesh or they will break the covenant and will be cut off from the rest of the people
-God changed Sarais name to Sarah
-Isaac was 8 days old when circumcised
-Abraham was 100 when Isaac was born
-Abraham has a feast the day Isaac was weaned
-Sarah wanted Abraham to get rid of Hagar and Ishmael so they got no inheritance from them that belonged to Isaac
-God told Abraham to do what Sarah said because his offspring would be reckoned through Isaac
-God said he would make Ishmael a nation too because of offspring
-Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away with food and water and they wandered into the Desert of Beersheba
-When water ran out Hagar left Ishmael under a bush so she wouldn't have to watch him die
-God told Hagar he would make Ishmael into a great nation and gave them a well for water
-God was with the boy as he became an archer when he grew up and lived in the desert
-God told Abraham to take Isaac to the region of Moriah & sacrifice him as a burnt offering
-Abraham took 2 servants and Isaac the next morning
-On the 3rd day, Abraham saw the place in the distance
-Abraham told the 2 servants to stay while him and Isaac went to worship
-Abraham carried the wood for the burnt offering
-Isaac carried the fire and the knife
-Isaac asks Abraham where the lamb for the offering is
-Abraham said that God would provide it
-Abraham built an altar and put wood in it with Isaac bound on top
-The angel of the Lord stopped Abraham from slaying his son
-The angel knows that Abraham fears God since he did not withhold his son
-Abraham found a ram and sacrificed it instead
-God tested Abrahams faithfulness
-The mountain became called the place that The Lord Will Provide
-The angel said that Abraham would be blessed and that his descendants will take possessions of cities of their enemies
-Abraham bought a field where he burned Sarahs body after her death
-Abraham then married Keturah, his second wife
-After Abrahams death, his entire estate went to Isaac instead of Keturahs offspring
-Abraham died at age 175 and was buried next to Sarah
-Isaac married Rebekah, who was chosen for him
-Rebekah had twins 20 years later, Jacob and Esau, the oldest
-Esau grew up to love the outdoors and hunting, becoming his fathers favorite
-Jacob stayed home and was quiet, becoming his mothers favorite
-Both boys vied for inheritance, when Jacob proved to be a manipulator and schemer
