"So what exactly happened with William?" asked Eldora.
"I don't know! I kissed him and then my head started to hurt."
"Are you sure that you just didn't want to kiss him?"
"I was fine with kissing him but I just couldn't."
"I believe that I know what is happening, but it is really unlikely."
"Just tell me already!"
Eldora flipped to a page in a large, leather-bound book from her desk. "True love's curse," she whispered.
"What is that?"
"It is a curse that impacts those who have met their true love but for some reason isn't able to or hasn't chosen to be with them yet."
"I don't think that I have met my true love yet though."
"I have something that says otherwise."
Eldora pulls out the note and missing corner that Tabitha had written. Tabitha looks at them in horror.
"How did you get that?"
"I read your note and then conjured it out of curiosity."
"What? Why would you do that?"
"Because I, too, had a hunch."
Eldora pulled Tabitha to her and their lips met. Sparks flew from Eldora and Tabitha's headache was relieved. They pulled apart and stared into each other's eyes. "That explains a lot," Tabitha said. "Yes, I agree," agreed Eldora. They had an awkward pause and then Tabitha breathed, "I should go back to my house. I expect to see you tonight?"
"Yes, of course."
Tabitha left on horseback and soon arrived back at her house. She waited in her room until sunset and heard the window creak open.
