As soon as they were out of the car, they were told about the situation with the abducted girl and once again, Pei Su was surprised that Captain Luo let him not only participate in the investigation as a witness, but told his men to treat him as a criminal psychologist to aid their investigation in any way he thought it was needed.
To Tao Ze, it was shocking hearing that from Captain Luo, because he was actually authorizing the team to follow Pei Su's suggestions to find leads in the case, even when he had so adamantly oppose to his involvement before, not to mention that their relationship had changed so suddenly after Pei Su rescue Weizhao from the mobs that it was still hard to process and he wonder just what happen between them since then.
However, his focus was now concentrate in finding the missing girl, because there was a real chance that if they didn't find her as soon as possible they may never find her at all, just like the other girls that have gone missing without a trace. To that, Pei Su was really helpful to the investigation and his guesses proved to be the right path to take and working along with Weizhao was like they were meant to work together from the start.
They seem to be in sync and it didn't take much explaining between them to get facts and act accordingly. The results were good from their teamwork and hours later, they found Chen Chen and got two suspects to work with to the next step, even when one of them was a minor. At least they have a real chance to crack the case and perhaps find out what happen to the other missing girls that were tied to that case. At the end, Luo Weizhao drive back with Pei Su on his passenger sit, after they rescue Chen Chen, mostly in silence with both of them apparently submerged on their own thinking.
Halfway, Weizhao glanced at his side on one red traffic light, finding the sudden silence quite deafening, because it was unusual for the brat to be quiet and more specially when traveling with him and to his surprise, he found him sound asleep, with his head slightly resting at his right, almost touching the car window. Pei Su's breathing was relaxed and even, so this time he was not faking it, which make it even weirder.
Since when Pei Su relaxed himself to a point of letting himself be exposed to him to such extent? And tonight it had happen more or less twice in a row. Could it be that the brat was too tired after all that happen that day? Was working with the police more tiring than his usual partying? That couldn't be the case, right? Perhaps, it was for the accident before he pretty much kidnap him to his apartment to celebrate his birthday, as awkward as it had been.
Most likely, all the things that had happened eventually affected the young man, and he was injured in that accident after all, not to mention that they didn't have time to eat a proper dinner as they rushed out. Weizhao sighed... he owed Pei Su a real rest and a hot dinner, both for his help and for his birthday, so he decided to take the boy to his house before returning to the Buerau. He lives nearby, so it wasn't much of a delay to take a few extra minutes to bring a weary, rich President to his humble home.
He drove quietly all the way home, occasionally glancing at the young man when he was at stoplights. He couldn't help but stare at him when he had the chance, because despite their many differences, fights, and throat bites, he couldn't deny the fact that Pei Su had grown into a fine, handsome young man. His expensive cologne alone was a killer to his senses, even if he would rather die than admit it to him. His appearance was also striking and he had already fallen into that trap made of skin a few times in the past days, just like he was doing now while he waited for the lights to change, he was drawn to look at him, when he was at peace and unguarded.
"Dammit, what the hell is wrong with me? He saved my life once, helped an old lady, then a kidnapped child, and I'm starting to act like a teenager with a first crush?" Weizhao asked himself as he drove home in embarrassed silence. If Pei Su ever finds out that he was acting like a closet pervert, he'll have the time of his life making fun of him for ages... and with good reason.
