For me, media duties were pretty damn easy. I just got to spend my day, following Pierre around in the lovely Italian sun. Nobody else seemed to be enjoying themselves, though.
Pierre was just finishing up a challenge that he had to do for YouTube with Daniil, so I was waiting for him outside on a bench. "You still up for the football?" I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up to see Max sitting down in front of me.
"You were serious about that?" I scoffed, hoping he would say he was joking.
"Deadly," he started, and I could tell he wasn't messing around. "I've already roped in Charles, Carlos, Daniel and Alex. I'll also have you and Pierre, so that makes 7 of us. But, we'll need to make it even sides, probably five-a-side."
"So who else are we exposing to this shit show? Are there no other ladies around here?"
"Unfortunately for you, you are the only one here. Everyone else is at home or working. I will give you the chance to bring three other drivers, your choice," Max said. He had really planned this out. "I'll send you the details of where we're going. It's tomorrow, by the way,"
"Oh no, what a tragedy. I'm going out with Pierre tomorrow," I said, trying my best to make it seem genuine. "Well you still can go out with Pierre tomorrow, but you'll also be with us,"
"Fine, I'll see you tomorrow, football frenzy," I rolled my eyes at him as he stood up and walked away. "Now that nickname is tragic,"
As Max walked away, I needed to decide on which other 3 drivers I was going to bring with us. The first person that popped into my head was Lando. I was able to talk to him briefly in Spa, and I thought he was really nice.
He wasn't too difficult to find, in his bright papaya McLaren polo shirt. "Hey, Lando,"
"Oh hey, Leone. I didn't know you were here," he said, pulling me into a friendly hug.
"I was just heading over to ask if you wanted to join a football match a few of us are having tomorrow? Max decided that it was happening, and I thought you'd like to join."
"Yeah, that sounds good," he said, smiling.
"I'm pretty sure someone will make a group chat, but if not, I'll text you the details?" I explained, glad he was coming. "Yeah, sounds perfect," he said. Just I was about to walk away, George Russel started to approach. "What is the rookie of the year missing out on?" he asked.
"You are NOT rookie of the year, I am," Lando protested, crossing his arms in an attempt to make himself look more aggressive, but it just made him look more like a teenage boy.
"Well, I already have two of the contenders, why don't we make it three?" I said, Lando getting the hint and huffing at me slightly. "You invited Alex and Lando to this mystery gathering before me? I feel hurt," he pretended to pout, earning a giggle from me and Lando.
"Max has organized a football match tomorrow, you want to join?" I asked. George started smiling, so I knew his answer already. "I'll be there. Get ready to be beaten,"
"We could be on your team, you do realize that," Lando said.
"If I am on a team with you, Lando, I might quit," he said, turning around a sassily walking away.
"Now I only need to find one more person for our fabulous day out."
"What about Esteban? I'm pretty sure he's friends with Pierre," Lando suggested.
"Could you ask him for me? Pierre is just getting out of his session," I asked, spotting the text from him telling me where he would be. "Yeah, no problem,"
