A World Without

Prologue

For privacy I have changed the names of everyone except myself (Kat) and Nikki.
A month before the first day of high school, all new students are required to attend a two week program to get used to the new high school. So there we were, sitting is a circle, introducing ourselves and our interests 1 by 1. For one with a short attention span, I soon got bored and instead day dreamed of my favorite characters coming alive then whisking me away to a far of land. Then she speaks up...

"Hi, I'm Nikki and I love Anime, Manga, Cosplay, and things related to Japan."

Without even thinking about it, I stand up and point to her.

"I will remember your name!"

She looks at me in shock but recovers and smiles up at me. Her beautiful blue eyes rival my own, her short dirty blonde is just above her shoulders while mine runs down half of my back, but her smile... her gorgeous smile is something simply I can't compare too. We talk about anime's like Code Geass and Cosplays, but I failed to realize everyone is staring at me. I'm interrupted by the teacher and told to sit down. I laugh awkwardly then take my seat. I ignored what everyone else was saying. I just couldn't help but feel happy. I met someone else like me. Soon after is was my turn.

"Hello, I'm Kat and-" I look over to Nikki and she smiles at me "Just like Nikki I like Anime, Manga, Cosplay and things related to Japan". Once everyone finished introducing them selves, we're told to get a partner and sit down. I notice Nikki sitting by the window with a empty seat next to her. Being the socially awkward potato I am, I didn't have the guts to ask to be her partner. So I walked over to the table next to her, sat down, and stared at the empty seat. She glances at me, smiles, and pats the sit next to her. I internally squeal then sit down. The whole time the teacher was talking, we simply talked and giggled about our favorite anime and Manga. We ignored all else like we were the only two people on earth. I knew she was special, but I didn't know just how special she'd be in the years to come.
