The brunette knew something was wrong right away, especially judging Ned's body language as she walked towards him.

"Leeds." Tess approached him quickly, a threatening look on her face, "Where the hell is Peter?"

Ned's eyes widened, "I-well you see..."

"Don't try and lie." Tess crossed her arms, Gwen standing nearby.

"I might've sort of lost contact with him-" Ned stuttered.

Tess inhaled deeply, "Well where was he when you lost contact with him?"

"I don't think I should- he told me to keep you out of it." Ned spoke firmly.

Tess however was more intimidating than Peter would ever be, "Leeds."

"Okay, okay!"

Ned showed Tess where Peter had last been, and she of course had to after him. The brunette would never leave him to fight alone.

The not-so-great thing though, is that she was way late.

Tess choked on the smokey air as she made her way down the beach, searching for Peter.

"Come on, I know you're here somewhere," she muttered poking around at rubble from the crash.

Then she spotted him. Peter seemed to be having trouble standing up, "Peter!" she yelled, "Look out!"

When the man with the mechanical bird wings flew directly into him, she figured that his senses were probably off from you know, whatever explosions had occurred.

"Hey Peter," the warped voice spoke, then turning toward her, "Tess."

Despite the severely damaged state of the mechanical wings, the man was still able to hold Peter down, until Tess stepped in. Slinging a web onto the wings.

That of course didn't work very long as the man flung her back into a pile of rubble her head crashing right into it, causing a wave of dizziness to wash over her.

Neither she nor Peter was in any shape to truly stop the man, however, they weren't exactly ones to give up.

"Your wings-"

Tess heard Peter start to say breathlessly, and that's when she looked up towards the man, noticing the electric energy and sparks that blew off of the wings.

"Your wings are about to explode!" Peter exclaimed, moving as much to his feet as possible shooting a web at the man, "A little help?"

Tess got the memo quickly, following his actions,  "Time to go home, Pete." the man stated, victory almost radiating off of him.

"I'm trying to save you!" Peter cried out, and even as Peter fell, Tess still continued to try and pull the man down.

She, however, wasn't quite strong enough, the man broke free from her grip, flying higher into the air.

"Tess! Take cover!" Peter exclaimed just as the wings blew, sending Liz's dad crashing to the ground.

Tess and Peter shared a look, and based on the concentration on his face, and the feeling in her gut, Tess knew that he was going to go after Liz's dad.

"Peter! Wait!" she called out just before he took off running into the flames. Tess coughed and choked trying to catch up with him, she couldn't just let him do this.

"Help me pull him out!" Peter instructed, and Tess reached down but immediately withdrew her hand as the sting made it's way the whole way up her arm, "Ow! Bitch!"

Tess shook her hand but based on the look Peter shot her, she still reached down to help. They pulled Liz'as dad out of the rubble and on to the open beach, where someone would find him and get him help.

"Come on, we've got to get out of here."

They sat up on the rooftop completely exhausted, watching the scene unfold below, "Mama's gonna kill us if we show up at home looking like this."

"Yeah, Aunt May I think would rather us come home with our most reckless thing having been drinking."

Tess laughed, "She would much rather us act like reckless teenagers than be vigilantes, I'm sure."

"In fact, she would probably get at least slight amusement out of us coming home tipsy because we never act like high schoolers according to her." Peter laughed.

Tess shook her head, "She would get amusement out of it after she grounded us. Like majorly grounded us."

Peter nodded, "Yeah, definitely."

"What time is it?" Tess asked, running a hand through her hair.

Peter looked at his mostly broken watch, "Uh- it was 10:30 when this watch broke...if that helps?"

Tess sighed, "We should go."

"Yeah, you're right," Peter agreed, rising to his feet.

"After you," she motioned to the edge of the rooftop, and they both laughed.
