' The stars are comforting. '

Yashiro was running to school, the cold air slapping her in the face. She rebelled by continuing to huff air out, shunning the cold away. Her breathes were tiny clouds of smoke as she ran, holding herself in an attempt to stay warm.

She reached the school, running to switch her shoes. She knew she wouldn't be late, but was absolutely not going to risk it. She went to grab her bag, and soon ran out into the hallway. She followed the corridor and turned the halls until, she got to her first class. She breathed heavily in a desperate attempt to catch her breath. That was enough running for one day.

"Nene-chan!" Aoi approached Yashiro, and she made a worried expression. She grabbed Yashiro's shoulder comfortingly, asking, "Are you alright? Do you need some water, Nene-chan?" Yashiro shook her head in response, getting off of her knees and putting her arms to her hips. "I'm totally fine, Aoi-chan! I just had to rush a bit because it took me longer than usual to finish up my lunch." She smiled warmly at Aoi, patting her on the shoulder as Aoi then hurried off to her desk.

Yashiro rummaged through her bag, trying to find a pencil. She grabbed something out of her bag. She growled, looking at it for a moment and continuing. She finally got her pencil, and pulled out the rest of her school supplies. She splayed them all out neatly, as they should be. She smiled, content with her work. Flipping open her notebook, she skimmed the pages until she found an empty one. She doodled, and doodled. She drew some random scribbles until finding herself stuck in the theme of space.

There were tons of little moons and stars on the paper. They all looked kinda okay. She turned to the side, for some reason expecting Aoi to be there.

Amane tapped his foot on the floor, and started to click his pen. He fidgeted, but got bored. He started to look around the classroom, and saw Yashiro staring at him.

He quirked his eyebrow upward, forming an expression full of questions. "Oh, what's up Yashiro-San?" He asked, looking down at the notebook. Yashiro was looking for an excuse to cover up her mistake. "Well..... You like space, right?" She was referring to the spaceship keychain he had. "Like space? I absolutely love space! It's so huge, and there's so much we don't know. We haven't even made it to Mars yet, but there is so much more to explore. Like the other galaxies and stars and-" He looked back to Yashiro, and she was staring in awe. His cheeks lit up.

"Sorry," he laughed. "I kinda went on a ramble, didn't I?-" He scratched his head. Yashiro had a look of pure admiration on her face. "What? Was that speech so inspiring that you are at a loss for words? Then you may clap now, if you wish." He smirked, Yashiro's cheeks turning red and his  changing to their regular tone. "Ugh, no! I just wanted to show you some- some- some.. doodles." She murmured, realizing how dumb the little drawings were, and pulled the notebook back onto her desk.

Amane was interested now, and took this as a challenge. He snatched the notebook, earning an earful from Yashiro as he turned away so she couldn't grab it back. He skimmed the pages, finding the doodles. He laughed, turning back. "It's like you drew a whole galaxy. It honestly reminds me of my room." Yashiro responded, "Oh, what does your room look like? I can make a few guesses but.." She trailed off, seeing a smirk from Amane. "Why?" He asked. "You can see for yourself, if you'd like~" He gave the notebook back to Yashiro, taking extra care to set it in her hands.

Yashiro realized what he meant. "WHAT?!" She groaned. "Yugi-kun, you are so annoying sometimes!!" All Amane gave as a response was a smirk as he turned back to face forwards. Soon enough, the bell rang.

"Alright, class. Today we will be working on a new project. As it goes along with our current unit, you will have to make a scale model of the solar system. You need to demonstrate the correct distances and correct planet sizes compared to the sun. It is due in a week. Unlike usual, though, I will be picking your partners." The teacher looked around the room, and began to list who would be partnering up. "Yashiro-san and Yugi-kun, you will be partners. Alright, now everyone get to work!" After that, the class started talking amongst themselves.

Yashiro turned to Amane, "So, Yashiro-san. I have a few ideas. Maybe we could get some styrofoam balls and paint them? Not sure how we would get to-scale, though. And the sun is a whole different story- these planets will probably be microscopic, actually." He tapped his foot on the floor while he thought. "I can go get the balls," Yashiro added, with a smirk from Amane but no comment. "Alright, actually we should go together so we can do it quicker. We'll need paint as well, and some rulers." At this point he was just brainstorming ideas out loud, but it made sense. Yashiro nodded as she wrote what he said. She made it into a list of sorts.

It read,

"- Styrofoam Balls Differing In Size

- Paint for the different colors of planets/the sun

- Rulers"

"Does this look about right for what we need?" Yashiro asked, pointing to the list with her pencil. "Yep! That looks perfect." He smiled as he started to sketch an idea of what it'd look like. He was super concentrated as he worked. He loved this stuff. Yashiro wasn't sure what to do, so she just sat and watched. It was peaceful watching him sketch the model.
