A Menacing Warning

By the time I reached the city, my legs screamed, and my lungs felt as though they could burst at any second. I rushed past a stall man who hollered a greeting, but I didn't bother responding. I need to get this information to the king. I busted through the palaces, doors running directly to the kings thrown, skidding to a stop by sliding on my knees into a bowing position. "MY LEAGUE I HAVE URGENT NEWS A DRAGON HAS THREATENED THE LIVE OF THE PEOPLE. YOUR KINGDOM FOR ITS EGG ABD IF NOT FOUND IT KILL BURN THE ENTIER KINGDOM DOWN." I spoke fast and almost yelled my words at the king he stared down at me."You are lucky you are my son, for if anyone other than you would DARE SPEAK TO ME IN THAT TONE." He bellowed at me, which caused me to wince. "A dragon? Hmm, why don't you go find the egg it would be a worthy way to find your place in this court, or you'll die, and I'll send someone more capable" he cackled to himself before looking to me and nodding telling me with only one look that retaliation would be futile so I sighed grabbed everything I thought I'd need. " Son before you go I would check the village on the outskirts of town Dawns Grazing should be the name of it they usually know some good places to look for skum, the bastards should have them hung damnit." I look away ashamed to be his son, but with that, i was finally off to find a dragon egg gulping to myself as I hopped on my horse, heading down the street. "Me of all people to find a damn dragon egg and hand it back. Should I even give it to my father to give to the dragon, he'd probably keep it and get us all killed. Maybe I should take it myself." I sighed and dropped my head a bead of sweat, leaving a glistening streak down my face. A whiney brought me back from my thoughts as I felt myself falling, grabbing the leather strap to keep from falling "Woah Woah easy shock, what's the matter?" I look to the ground as she steps quickly back a snake in the middle of the road hisses before darting back into the forest, and I chuckle. "That could have ended badly. Hehe.." I whimper some touching the the bow on my back, bringing it down so I will be ready as we enter the forest, the bright sun light that was once overflowing my body became dotier as we travel through the forest soon the sun was out of view from the thick leafy canopy high above.

Deep in the woods cresting over a small hill, I saw the cozy outside of Dawns Grazing. I smiled a bit, heading in. I looked around before spotting the pub I head over, walking in i, tilt my hat down to cover my eyes. Heading over to the bar, I sit down. "A whiskey, please, bar keep," he looks at with a plain face before taking a shot glass out and filling it full of whiskey, and I toss down a few silver, getting some coppers in return I lean back drinking the shot before looking to the bar keep, "So have you heard anything about a dragon egg." He stairs me down hard and looks around. "Who told you about a dragon egg if I were you, I'd steer very clear of it. Dragons only bring bad tidings, although I do have information if you buy about 10 more drinks." He sneers, and I sigh heavily, dropping the coin for the information, and he quickly scoops it into a pocket." I heard tails of dragon scales a heart and what you are most interested in a dragon egg over in Twilight Folly." He walks away, and I tap my shot glass on the bar he quickly refills it, and I swig it down before getting up and walking out of the bar to my horse. . . Wait, where is she. " SHOCK!" I  shout for her worriedly before finally giving up. "That's just my damn luck. Of course, she's gotten stolen." I make my way to the stables. Grumbling to myself, I walk through the stables looking at horses, and I see shock. "SHOCK, it's you." I look to the stable keep who's walking over "fine mare isn't she just got her in." He lies. I hate lies so so so much worthless asshole. " I clear my throat before staring him in the eye."That's my horse. First of all, second, I want her back or else." He laughs at me, causing my eye to twitch," or else what kid. Think you're a hard ass come at me." He jeers at me, and I take off my bow and quiver, setting them on shocks back before staring him down. I step forward, he does the same throwing a punch for my face, I block it, and step forward with my other foot bringing my fist to his stomach with a nasty hit, I was so close i could hear his breath leave him before he fell to the ground gripping his stomach. I give his a second to catch his breath, and he stands up shakingly. "Oh, now you've passed me off." He said before charging me, allowing his anger to get the best of him he grapples me, and I bring my head down on his hard, making him yelp in pain as he backs away gripping his nose. "My horse now." I say, watching him as I feel a bit of blood leak out of my nose, not nearly as bad as his. He stumbles to the stall, unlatching it and opening it shock canters over and whinnies. " Of course I won. I'd never lose you, girl," I rub her neck, hugging her before making sure I have everything hopping on her saddle and she canters out of stables neighing as we leave headed for Twilight Folly.
