I woke up to my phone ringing, my head was in an uncomfortable angle on the ground. My whole body was aching due to sleeping on the hard floor. I groaned as I sat up, I rubbed the sleep off of my eyes but hissed when my eyes ached. My eyes are swollen because of crying all night.
I move to pick up my phone when it kept ringing. I was half hoping it to be Noah or Caleb but ... it was Rachel. I haven't seen her yesterday night at the reception desk.
"Hello!" I said in to phone.
"Are you back?" She asked me. How did she know?
"Yeah I am" I sighed sadly.
"Oh ... do you have a fight with Hunter?" Whe asked me and my brows furrowed at her words.
"No" I told her.
"Then why..." she paused and sighed.
"Open your door" she told me.
"Why? What are you talking about?" I was confused but I still stood up and start walking towards the door.
"I have heard few complaints..." I froze when I saw Hunter leaning down the wall beside my door. He was sleeping in an uncomfortable angle. My eyes teared up at the sight. He stayed here the whole night.
"Please take him inside or sort your lover quarrel, the poor slept on the floor the whole night" she said and I sobered up.
"Okay, bye" I said hanging up the phone. I moved towards him and kneeled down beside him.
"Hunter!" I called him, he didn't move so I shake his shoulder. He woke up with a start and relaxed when he saw me.
"Come inside!" I said and stood up. He followed my movements, he looked a little embarrassed to be caught by me.
When we were inside I shut the door behind me.
"What was all that Hunter?" I was a little angry at him.
"I didn't want to leave you alone ... after what happened!" He said looking away from me.
"You could have come inside" I huffed.
"I wanted to give you some privacy too" he said. Then he moved towards me and his face contorted to pain as he looked in my swollen eyes.
"Why you do this to yourself? Don't you pity me?" He asked as he lightly caressed my cheeks just below my eyes. My heart speeds up at his touch.
"I will talk to them!" He told me but I shake my head.
"No you won't! They will not understand. They would not want to see me ever again" my voice creaked at the end as my eyes teared up again. I thought I don't have enough tears to shed now but... here I am!
"Sshhh baby! Don't cry princess. It hurts me to see you in pain" he said and pull me in hus embrace. I hid my face in his neck as I try hard not to cry but failed. He held me like that for long until I sobered up. I moved away and looked up at him. He wiped my cheeks gently.
"Everything will be alright!" He told me with such confidence that I wanted to believe him but he and I both know nothing will be good again.
"Please don't ever leave me, I only have you now. I don't know what I will do if you leave me too" I almost pleaded him and he frowned a little.
"I would never! Kitten you don't know how much you mean to me. I would rather than ever hurt you. I will say by your side forever, I would never leave you. Never!" He said that by looking in my eyes. His eyes held a promise and I believed him.
"Do you want to stay here or with me...?" He asked.
"My brothers pay for this house so I don't think if I should live here from now on!" I said as I looked down.
"So then we will live in our apartment" he said and I almost smiled at the way he said 'our'.
"Do you need help in packing?" He asked and I nodded.
We spend good few hours in packing, I packed two bags. Then we left the apartment that was once mine. I can't believe how everything changed in merely a day.
When we were in his penthouse, he took me upstairs. I stayed in the guest bedroom beside his room. I don't want to stay in the same room as him yet, it's too soon. I am a little old school in that matter.
After keeping my things in the room, we went downstairs. The food was made by his chef, it was already lunch time. I barely took few bites and then I stopped.
'Did Caleb or Noah ate?' my mind was on them, and the thought of them not eating made me stop too.
"Kitten?" I looked up to see Hunter looking at me. He has a frown on his face.
"Finish your breakfast!" He ordered and I smiled lightly as I saw the old Hunter in him right now. I haven't seen his this side for days and I missed it.
"I am not hungry anymore. If I eat anymore I would throw up" I said. He sighed and looked disappointed but didn't said anything. But he also stopped eating his food.
"Why are you not eating?" I asked with a frown.
"The same reason to why you are not eating!" He said and stood up as he picked up both our half eaten plates and placed them in the refrigerator. I sighed sadly!
"Have some sleep, you look tired" he said as he pull me up with my hand and took me to my room. He laid me down on the bed and covered me with the blanket as he sat on the edge beside me. We gazed in each other eyes as he lean forward and kissed my cheek, his lips lingered there for a moment or two and I close my eyes. Then he moved back and I felt his hand on my forehead as he massaged my templed with his fingers. I almost moaned at the relief!
His fingers worked on my head were like a lullaby which pulls me to a peaceful and much needed sleep!
I woke up to his voice, he was outside my room talking to someone on the phone. He was angry on that someone.
"I said I can't come, what is there you don't understand?" He hissed at the person on the other side.
"I don't care" he said gruffly.
"I won't come," he said and hanged up. Then he walked inside my room rubbing his eyes. He looked irritated and tired, when he saw me awake he smiled lightly but his eyes gave away.
"Why don't you take some rest too?" I said.
"I am not sleepy!" He lied and sat on the edge of my bed. I rolled my eyes at him and rolled to the other side of the bed.
"Come here" I said pointing towards the empty space on the bed. He groaned lightly but still laid down beside me. I thread my fingers in his.
"I don't want you to change your plans because of me. You don't have to babysit me" I said in a small voice. He looked at me.
"I am not babysitting you, I want to stay by your side and nothing in this world can stop me from doing that!" His voice held such firmness which didn't leave anything for argument.
"Come here!" He said as he take me in his arms. I placed my head on his chest as I closed my eyes. I stayed like that for few moments until he stated snoring lightly. I smiled, after all he was tired!
"I love you Hunter!" I whispered as I too closed my eyes and sleep. I don't think I can ever get enough of saying those three words to him.
