A long time ago the people of planet Zork invented a vortex machine that could create vortexes anywhere that they wanted.
They used their amazing invention for traveling across the stars to other planets so they could learn. Many eons passed and nothing EVER went wrong with their traveling until one day....
The highest ruler (Aka the king) of their planet decided to get remarried because his wife "passed on". On their wedding day the king was so exited. His bride would be out any minute, so he waited.
Waited and waited forever until a guard came rushing to him "y - your bride... she took the vortex machine and transported somewhere..."
No one ever saw her again...
