Douma First pov

I watched as the worshipers left and Taiyo seemed to have a drastic change in their mood. Ok, so they don't like large amounts of people looking at them. Good to know. When all of them had left Taiyo had relaxed and was just sitting in my lap playing with my coat ends. I chuckled at this before realizing that the worshipers would soon be asking for my blessing, and I'd be stuck here for hours listening to them. I patted Taiyo's head to grab their attention. They looked up at me and tilted their head..

"Worship hours and blessings are going to start soon. Would you like to stay with me?"

The second I said that Taiyo clung to me and was refusing to let go. I took that as a yes, they wanted to stay with me.I started to rub their back, hoping that they would let go and relax. I was starting to think more about how much this little one must've been through. And what was this monster they talked about? It must've been a demon if anything. Does that mean there are demon slayers around? If there are I'll have to kill them.

But, I wouldn't want this little one to see that! So, I'd have to kill them when I know that Taiyo won't know about it or see it at all.

I pat Taiyo's head and summoned a servant to me.

"Yes, Lord Douma?"

I smiled coldly at the servant and looked at Taiyo. They had a lot of little cuts and scrapes on their precious face. I couldn't let that be.

"I would like you to patch Taiyo up for me, or find someone who can! But, you're really the only one I trust to do so. Do you think you can do that, Keiko?"

"Yes, Lord Douma, I can patch them up for you."

"Thank you, Keiko!"

I quickly moved to stand in-front of Keiko, he is my personal servant and I just adore his willingness. I kissed the top of his head and handed Taiyo to him, I reminded him to be gentle and kind to them, and to bring Taiyo to me once he is done.

I looked at the child I now held in my arms, they are so small and fragile. I slowly scanned the little cuts and gnashes on their little face and body. When we reached one of the bathrooms that had some medical supplies in it I gently set Taiyo on the ground and watched them stare up at me with confusion.

//They must not know what I'm doing.\\

I chuckled at the way Taiyo just tilted their head when I sat on the ground in-front of them and took out a cloth to put some disinfectant on. I knew it would sting them so I'd have so be careful. I smiled at them and cupped their cheek in my hand, they seemed so delicate... like a Little Lotus...

"Taiyo, this will sting a little, so can you be brave and stay still for me?"

Taiyo nodded at me and I gently brushed their wounds with the cloth. Their eyes seemed to water as the disinfectant started to work. I felt bad and pulled them onto my lap and caressed their cheek as I let them calm themself from the stinging. I only had a few more to do and now that Taiyo knew what it felt like they may let this go by faster.

After I finished disinfecting their wounds and started bandaging them up they mumbled something I couldn't quite hear.

"What, Taiyo? I didn't hear you."

I spoke in a calm and soothing voice, while talking to the little one. They looked back at me and reached their hands out. I guessed they wanted to be held. Once I fully finished bandaging them, I picked them up and kissed their head.

"You did great, Taiyo! Let's get you back to Douma."

Taiyo seemed to light up at the mention of them doing great. They smiled at me and, it was so precious!!!

I carried them back to Douma and worshiping hours were about to begin, I handed Taiyo to Douma, bowed, and exited the room. I headed back to my servants quarters to await my next orders. When I reached my room I laid down on the bed and just stared at the ceiling.

When Keiko left Taiyo seemed a little upset that he had to go. I sat on the cushions with Taiyo hiding in my coat. I sat there as people began to come in and out, and I blessed them one by one. Taiyo seemed confused as to why I did this, but it wasn't like they really wanted to know. Taiyo didn't seem to think that this was important and they were just as bored as I was.
