Song recommendation for this chapter:
The space ahead was way much different interior wise compared to previous rooms the woman stayed in up to this point. It was a hallway of sorts, stretching infinitely so far away the eye cannot spot the ending even if it wanted to. The most prominent details about the space itself were decorations, or lack of those that is to describe the ambient more efficiently.
The hallway consisted of only dull gray walls paired up with a never ending wooden floor occasionally interrupted by a couple of holes in it, most likely created by thermites. If it weren't for so many doors present on this level, one could easily think the place was completely abandoned.
The suffocating eerie atmosphere definitely helped enhance that feeling.
Either way, the room in question for this particular moment was different from the rest. Why is that, you ask? The answer is quite simple in fact. Because it serves like a supplement for an actual hospital as weird as it sounds.
Now, why would these lunatics need such unpresented facility in the first place? Well apparently, despite being unnaturally resilient, they are still capable of sustaining injuries, and those happen far more frequently than one would anticipate. So, to prevent the outcome in which half of the estate's residents would bleed to death, they ordered a build up of an improvised hospital within the building to make the whole experience less messy and unpleasant for everyone.
But apart from several broken limbs and wounds that needed immediate stitching, nothing more severe has played out during the entire time this building came to exist.
However, the story does not end there.
The person treating these mongrels has quite an unpredictable and original personality. He has very little patience and is prone to violent outbursts when provoked. Not to mention he possesses a great deal of physical strength within him making him capable of taking down even the strongest with ease if necessary. On top of everything, he is also very fast for someone being so bulky in built which makes him a type not to be messed around with if you appreciate living.
Also the sight of blood gives an animalistic type of excitement further adding to his unpredictable behavior, which only manages to make the things all that more complicated considering he is the only one medically trained expert in the entire house so the others go visit him only in a biggest of crisis or they are out of option.
Finally, there is a rumor going around he is secretly a major pervert, but that was never really confirmed. Interesting guy to say the least.
How did this lunatic ended up being a well proclaimed doctor? Only heavens know the answer.
So, even after knowing all these informations, Natasha still decided to go with it not having much of a choice left in here.
The ambulance was located in a less populated part of the household making the walk seem to last longer than it actually is. Again the female found herself in a long narrow hallway, except there were no doors at the sides if you don't count a large metallic one at the very end of the hallway.
It was big, metallic, pale and threatening looking enough to unnerve anyone just by observing it. But the door itself wasn't a real issue, it's the horrid smell coming from it, or rather behind it. That hard metallic unpleasant odor is enough to make even the strongest stomachs turn upside down immediately. The woman continued walking forward unfazed by it all as she was long use to the presence of blood as she was loosing it regularly every month.
The door opened with a loud menacing crack alerting who ever was inside in an instant. Not that it was possible to tell since there was so little sunlight in the room. It was honestly a bit unnerving.
But the female still didn't show any sigh of fear, at least not for now.
Instead she just snickered to herself thinking who ever lurks around here must be a vampire in secret. With all other weirdos inhabiting the household, this is the least strange thing to stumble upon. Thankfully, there was nothing of such sort much to the female's relief.
Whatever little illumination was inside revealed a normal looking spacious room. There were around four beds on each side all having medical cabinets, folding screens, infusion stands and whatever else categorizes as a standard medical equipment. Heck, it could pass off as a regular hospital clinic if the blood odor wasn't still present in the air.
But the strangest part in all of this, was the obvious lack of professional care. In fact, it looked like no one was here for a long while. That, or they are a major tidy freak. The place was eerily silent as if the time itself stopped here entirely.
The woman looked around hoping to catch a glimpse of at least someone being present here recently, but to no avail. It's like even ghosts themselves abandoned this place altogether. Whatever, she will just do this on her own.
Without a moment of hesitation, she approached one of the cabinets carefully searching for some bandages and disinfectant if possible. Upon finding the desired objects, she started removing the old stained bandages carefully trying not to cause any more bleeding. After that she applied a little bit of alcohol to the wound causing her to whimper a bit.
Such action required a full undivided attention, therefor making her numb for every other activity outside of her hearing range or all surroundings in general. Sad fact is, if she wasn't so concentrated on the treatment, she'd notice someone sneaking up on her from behind. Or maybe not considering this person left no sound as they walked forward boldly.
Who ever they were, they had no problem being quick to approach a carefree woman with their hands stretched forward eagerly expecting to grab her. The friction between those was practically inexistent now with how fast the person moved around. They were practically hovering above the unsuspicious woman purposely delaying a fateful encounter.
In a blink of an eye, they were swift to place their hands right over her shoulders clearly scaring her shitlessly. The scream that came out afterwards probably made the entire house tremble directly to it's foundation. With such high vocal range, even banshee would be jealous.
Immediately the female practically jumped five feet in the air dropping everything she was holding while desperately trying to calm down her breathing. It came out rapid, fast and strong like she just recovered from a panic attack. Only after a good portion of minutes she was finally able to calm down properly.
Sadly, her moment of relaxation was short lived as a loud hysterical cackle erupted straight from behind her. The unexpected noise forced her to turn around inevitably directly facing a culprit responsible for her immediate trauma from earlier. Given the circumstances, the sight presented in front of her would terrify anyone, but she was way beyond that stage already.
There stood a tall muscly man with a midnight colored skin and an impossibly wide grin loaded with plenty of shark looking teeth sharpened all the way to the top. He continued laughing like he just saw literally the funniest thing known to a man which only managed to infinitely annoy the woman.
Is this the idiot that almost caused her a near death experience? Unbelievable. The only scary thing about him is the lack of respect for personal hygiene. His breath reeked on fresh blood with a few meat chumps still sticking out between his teeth. It's like he never heard of basic decency.
Regardless of everything, the female gave him a highly flustered look combined with strong boiling anger practically dripping from her. "What the hell is the matter with you? Are you trying to cause me a heart failure or something?" - she practically yelled out the words hissing like a ravaged snake towards the guy who was still suffocating from intensity of the laughter.
To him this was nothing more short of an amusement obviously. It's as if he goes around regularly scaring people when they least expect it.
After a few seconds, he was finally able to mutter out a coherent sentence albeit a short one. "Doesn't matter if you do, I'd still revive you with ease." - a couple of chuckles still parted from his lips showing he wasn't willing to calm down fully just yet. The woman continued staring at him mildly disappointed clearly unamused by his behavior.
